Bridgend Hotel

Ein sehr charmantes, kleines Hotel erwartete uns. Das Personal hätte nicht freundlicher sein können. Das Zimmer war gemütlich, das Bad verfügte noch über die alten Armaturen. Der Speisesaal gefiel uns besonders gut und das Essen (besonders das Porridge mit Whisky-Honig) schmeckten vorzüglich. Dass hie und da etwas Rost oder Kalk angesetzt hatte, verminderte unseren positiven Eindruck in keinster Weise. Wenn wir wieder einmal auf Islay kommen sollten, würden wir auf jeden Fall wieder hier übernachten wollen - auch weil Bridgend gut gelegen ist, um alle Punkte der Insel gut zu erreichen.

Der Einstieg in die Badewanne ist sehr hoch, es gibt keine Haltegriffe und der Duschvorhang war etwas unangenehm.

The staff was amazing! The cheesecake was fabulous. All of the food was very good. The Scotch menu was top notch. I guess we liked everything. And the garden was an unexpected delight.

The bathrooms need upgrading and service was slow but the dining room was very busy..

Made travelling with our dog so much easier .. welcome in the bar for breakfast and evening meals. Staff were lovely and friendly. Hotel was well appointed and lovely lounge area (although couldn't use that with the dog). Good location for exploring all round the island. Food was good.

Generally happy with our stay .. only niggles were.. There was a lot of broken glass in the car park where we first parked (not so good for the dog!). The room was quite snug. Would have been lovely to sit somewhere comfy with the dog in the evening.

This is a very good hotel on Islay. The restaurant is very good. We had a good large room. Staff were friendly and professional. It is located in a small hamlet with a shop and petrol station.
