Baglioni Masseria Muzza Resort & Spa

The staff is so friendly ! We loved Gosha! She always greeted us with a smile and she knew what we liked to drink by day 2. We also loved Ivana at the front desk! She was lovely and always ready to help us figure out the daily plans. Her energy was very inviting.

The food for dinner and lunch was mediocre! It would have been nice to have better tasting food at the place, so we can enjoy the restaurant there more! Instead, we opted out to eat in town.it is strange because the breakfast was good.

I appreciate that this is a sustainable property, as it was renovated from chicken farm into a hotel. Also, there is a benefit to have access to the gym with weights, in other hotels around the coast that was not an option. The hotel gifted me beautiful flowers for my birthday, that was very thoughtful. However, when I was using the gym, on a yoga mat, cleaners thought it was a great idea to sweep the floors and bring dust right into my space… they even cleaned around my legs and hands with a broom which I thought was very inappropriate. Normally in luxury hotels, you never ever see the staff clean. It’s like magic, you have a clean space but never see anyone actually cleaning it. At this place, unfortunately, that was not the case. The gym has glass doors and they saw there were people, I thought they would go to a different facility. But they walked right into the gym and loudly started cleaning, as if I was at a farmers market trying to buy tomatoes on sale…

This would not have been as much of an issue if the hotel cost was 150-200 euros per night. My number one disappointment was the artificial air freshener or some sort of cleaning supplies smell in the room. It was throughout all the space in the hotel. I was quite allergic and had troubles breathing. I think it could have been a laundry detergent, as well as a room air freshener… Of course I notified the staff and they rewashed bed sheets for me, however it didn’t fix the issue. The room still smelled like it was swimming in a cheap air freshener. For people with asthma this could cause a serious allergic reaction. Although the cleaners said they used no perfumes, both my mom and I smelled a strong scent of something… our guess was cleaning supplies or air fresheners. Number 2. The views were really missing. Photos that are misleading, and must have been taken at a different season. Because we saw no sunsets or sunrises from anywhere at the property. The sunset was very covered by the trees. I also thought that the surroundings were more of a village vibe, there were massive garbage bins visible from our terrace, some old properties or just neighbours… To me luxury hotels at this PRICE POINT must have 3 things: location with views, exceptional service and clean spaces, delicious food. Of course sea access would also be a necessity for me. But this coast has a very challenging scape, with cliffs and rocks and many areas being a public space. So I have no concerns with this. Now let’s talk about the service, we went to the sea coast at 5-6am for the sunrise and a swim. Afterwards we could not get into the hotel… the gate would not be opened, reception has to open it for you. However that was not the case. Simple resolution would be to provide a code for guests so they can come and go as they please. We felt like the hotel wanted you to function on their terms and their timeline. The shuttle was available from 10am well we prefer to go to the beach at 5:30 or 6am.

Everything was top notch. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with any request. My room was very clean and perfect in every way, providing a comfortable and relaxing environment. The property itself is well-kept and maintained, showcasing attention to detail and care. The food was excellent, with a variety of delicious options that exceeded my expectations. The service was fantastic, with quick and efficient responses to all my needs. Overall, my stay was outstanding and I highly recommend Masseria Muzza to anyone looking for a great experience.

Staff fantastic

Scenic location, beautiful accommodation that lets you fully immerse into the serenity of Puglia! Staff is outstanding, going above and beyond to cater any need - Alberta at breakfast was a particular highlight - always brighting each morning with smile and kindness! With the hotel driver and private transport to Otranto and Coco Bay it really felt effortless to commute between the Masseria and surroundings!

Easy path to 10: spritz 15 from 22euro (this was really ridiculous given Michelin guide restaurant in the area charges less than 10!), clear breakfast choice (this was really unclear what’s available a la carte) + Free fresh juices (the buffet only included industrial juices; for example in your Rome hotel you offer it…) and fix your dinner menu! Also, seems like no bye bye gift at the end of stay, which was present in all other Baglioni hotels (Medici Tea in Florence, chocolates in Sardinia etc). Final aspect to consider: I understand hotel is probably not the best place to seek a sport massage, but I asked for a deep tissue neck massage and received a gentle Swedish touch (my partner was satisfied with his, hence depends on the therapist as well). These are just some small things that would make the otherwise spotless Baglioni experience!
