Chambers Place

The place was a stop over to Portsmouth so we needed somewhere to stay overnight. The area was quiet and met all our needs, with secure parking and you had the choice to bring and prepare dinner yourself or order some in, which we did thanks to some advice from the people who run Chambers Place. We had a small child with us and she had plenty to keep them occupied. Also, we had our dog with us and were warned that there was free roaming chickens etc so we did keep her on the lead. It was nice to be greeted by them in the morning.

This cannot be changed, the roof is very sloped due to the accommodation being on the first floor so if you're not carefully you do bang your head. This did not detract from the stay and we will happily stay there again.

It was self contained and quiet

My adult sister was in the second room with single beds which are probably used for children. The mattress on the single bed was uncomfortable

Chambers place is situated on the edge of woodcote village on a lovely rural plot with pleasant gardens and attractive main property which the accommodation is attached to but self contained for privacy. Great communication from Caroline and pre arrival information. We arrived at dusk to witness the guinea fowl roost for the night in the tree in view of our window, and our late arrival was no problem, which added to the stress free, fun experience of staying there.. The location and property was ideal for us travelling on motorbikes. Parking was ample, and we felt happy that our bikes were safe overnight. Spacious and airy, the accommodation was bright, clean, and comfortable. With beds for 4 people, it is very good value (should you be a party of 4) for money in comparison to similar places (only accommodating 2) we stayed at over a 7 day road trip. Bathroom and kitchenette facilities were perfect for our overnight stay, with ample breakfast options. .

Others have mentioned the sloped ceilings, which, although not an issue for me, was for my partner who banged his head a few times. Limited TV channels due to signal issues.

Lovely room Coffee machine, toaster, large selection of cereals, bread, and fruit available in the kitchenette in suite for breakfast.

In a beautiful location, it was a comfy property with two bedrooms. The owners went above and beyond to accommodate an extra guest we had. They were warm and friendly.

Wonderful property with great facilities- the owners have thought of everything to make our stay as comfortable and accommodating as possible. Breakfast included in the price was an added bonus and greatly appreciated as were the super facilities for our dog - especially the lovely grounds where we could walk him.
