Ecoco Holbox - EcoChic - Cabañas de Madera - Holbox Retreat

Zoe was such a wonderful, friendly host, and everyone at Ecoco was so helpful and kind! The cabana was very cute and it was lovely to have a balcony to sit out on when it cooled down. It was a short 10 minute walk to the centre of town and the beach.

To make it more eco-friendly, it would be great for the cabanas to be more insulated so the aircon is more effective! And also to have some filtered drinking water readily available, and a fridge.

You can hear EVERYTHING including your neighbours so bring earplugs The water is solar powered so it doesn’t get very warm.

Great spot to explore Holbox, in a calm and chilled corner of town but easy to walk everywhere. Zoe was so friendly and accommodating. The cabana has everything we needed.

The owner Zoe is super lovely and friendly.

It’s more run down and rustic than it looks in the pictures. The rooms are dark, and mosquitos get in through cracks in the walls. The shower only has warm water in the afternoons. It’s also far from the beaches, on dirt roads full of puddles. We decided not to stay here. The owner is very nice, but she didn’t give us a partial refund, as we had booked a non refundable stay through booking.com

The eco-friendly concept is really cool. The host was amazing and available for every sort of questions!

The property is at the very end of the village, quite of a walk to the center and most beautiful beach, especially considering that the roads are always flooded! Taxis are an option.. Breakfast was too poor. A cup of coffee and 2 pancakes every morning..
