Quinta da Saraiva

We had a lovely stay at Quinta da Saraiva. The hotel's location is great, overlooking Camara de Lobos and the surrounding hills, with great views all around. Camara de Lobos itself is within walking distance, about 20 minutes downhill (we took a taxi back up...!). Our room was a little smaller than expected, but it had a nice balcony/terrace. The pool / garden area was lovely! The highlight has to be the incredible breakfast spread that is offered - everything was fresh, homemade, and absolutely delicious! The staff were very friendly and helpful too.

It is a little tricky to access the hotel by car, as the driveway is hidden and you have to drive on a VERY narrow alley. Perhaps this could've been explained prior to arrival. Unfortunately, the jacuzzi also stopped working on our second night, although the staff tried to help.

The rooms were very comfortable and cleaned everyday. Breakfast was tailor made with a wide variety of fruit, bread, cheese and delicious local dishes. Everything home made

Getting to the property is down a steep narrow road - not easy Would like to have had towels changed - they were always damp Breakfast was repetitive - a Buffett would have been preferable Very expensive for what it was

Amazing breakfast! So delicious and fresh,and the homemade bread was to die for. Rooms and the view were stunning. If we are ever in Madeira again we will stay here. Beautiful property with history and character. Loved the resident kitty, Mel and the goats! Such a gem of a place to stay.

Nothing, this stay exceeded our expectations and was amazing. Only thing we didn’t love were the firm pillows 😊
