Lac Hotel

The receptionist was very polite, patient and kind, even though we arrived 2 hours after booking the room, at 10:15 pm, he acted as if we were his first guests. (Check-in is until 10 pm on paper)

I spent too short time here..

1. Bang on the lake. 2. Room had a partial view of the lake & access (outside the room) to a terrace with a beautiful view of the full lake. 3. Walkable (15 mins) from Melide Station & walkable distance from the Melide (Suisse Miniature) ferry stop (25 min walk). Our walk pace is leisurely! 4. Very friendly & helpful staff. 5. Their restaurant food is a little expensive but good quality. 6. Room & bathroom were large and the room was very comfortable with air-conditioning which was a blessing in the heat. 7. Elevator in the hotel - huge plus with the bags. 8. Very good spread for breakfast which is included in the room rate & good value. 9. Good selection of TV channels. 10. They give you 2 small bottles of water & 2 cans of tea/juice in the minibar, included in the price. 11. A couple of nice restaurants around the hotel.

1. Some things needed attention & upkeep - like the lamps in the room which were torn on the inside - the glass shelf in the shower area had come off and was not replaced - there was a table & chairs on the terrace for another room but not for us. We had to ask and then they gave us chairs. The aircon in the room started leaking water one day - however, they attended to it very efficiently the same day! 2. The swimming deck/lounge area underneath the restaurant seemed closed although the weather was perfect for swimming. The area had no service & was full of cobwebs. It would have been nice to have that facility. 3. Walking to the hotel with suitcases from the station is doable but not a cake walk. It will take at least 15— 20 mins with bags because good part of the road is on a slight incline. 4. No bidet in the bathroom.
