Beautiful historical home full of antiques, great location for walking and enjoying Salem. Would stay again. Loved the chocolate muffins and quiche one morning.

"Aconchegante!!"

8.0

Do clima de história… do aconchego…

Faltou água, de beber no quarto e a banheira é um pouco desafiadora para se tomar banho e não deixar molhar fora para evitar estragar o chão tão lindo e original

"If you were going to stay in Salem, do it right and stay somewhere historic like this. Spooky but comfortable and beauti"

10.0

One of the most historic places you can stay in Salem and they really play to that strength! Beautifully decorated and little surprises around every corner. Sophistically quirky and eclectic. Highly recommend. It was a shared bathroom bed-and-breakfast but never once was that an issue or awkward. Everything was kept extremely clean, and I never even heard our neighbors.

"Exceeded Expectations! 100% Recommend!"

10.0

Where do I start?? This Daniels House experience has FAR exceeded our expectation. You must book here! My wife and I had a late July getaway in Salem for 4 days, with three nights in the Daniels Great Room. The Daniels House was absolutely PERFECT location. LISTEN!!!! My wife and I did it all - Witch Museum, House of Seven Gables, the extensive Essex Street Pedestrian walking mall, Pickering Wharf, multiple history museums, all the historic buildings, Pirate museums, Salem Museum of Torture, Charter Street Cemetary, great food, and on and on - EVERYTHING is no more than a 10 minute walk from The Daniels House!!!!! Our vehicle barely moved! This couldn’t be more perfect!!! I think the other rooms in Daniels House get a parking pass for right out front…. But if you book The Great Room like we did, you get a private driveway parking spot … what a nice perk! The room?? The Great Room??? AMAZING! Trust us - The historical feel and vibe from the room cannot be explained. The house dates to the 1600’s and Patrick and Adele have done a phenomenal job of preserving that ‘period feel’. The whole house deserves a careful walkthrough itself - it is full of artifacts and pictures and crafts and wares and charming period nostalgia all throughout. The Daniels house is super clean, tidy, and very authentically original …. We appreciated every subtle creak spoken by a floorboard or stair step. Listen - that’s not a feigned flaw…. I’m describing the treasure feel of the house! Call it odd… but my wife and I loved walking in the Great Room barefoot. Everything was clean and well preserved original. Even stepping up into the overly large private bathroom…. If you close your eyes and slowly inhale, you can just imagine the tales these floors and walls could tell! Another subtle nuance - the stairs in the house. You can see and appreciate the lovely subtle texture of 100+ years of use where countless folks have gone up or down them. Snap back modern - Good A/C in the Great Room.

"It's an Experience - and I'd Recommend It!"

10.0

We loved staying in a house built in the 1600s! It was like getting to sleep in a museum rather than a hotel. Also - the Continental Breakfast was more than we expected! Beyond a few kinds of breakfast bread and a toaster, there was also whipped cream cheese, hard-boiled eggs, and a couple types of fresh fruit. We were very pleased. There were only a couple drawbacks (which would NOT keep me from recommending the experience): As no one works a front desk, you have to repeatedly call to ask questions or store your luggage, etc. Even the ability to text - rather than call - the staff would make this easier. The shared bathroom on the 3rd floor was adorable, but the ceiling is precisely 6 feet. The shower is in a beautiful old claw-foot tub a few inches off the floor. The showerhead is suspended a few inches from the ceiling. And you're surrounded only by a shower curtain - without shelves or other conveniences. If you're over 5 foot 5, showering is a bit of a challenging, hunched over affair.

"Cozy."

8.0

Great period house. Well decorated. Rooms were comfortable. Bathroom was as expected. Different than other B&Bs as there really is no where to go but your room. No living area, outside patio or porch, or kitchen access. Breakfast was light fare with cereal and some breads so we opted out mostly. Host lives onsite but keeps to themselves. No real interaction, which we are fine with. If you are a history buff of this period and basically looking for a room to rent this is the place for you!
