Simple et chaleureux, parfait pour un moment en famille. Au centre des activités de la région, ideal pour nous. Les enfants ont apprécié le cadre pour jouer et le restaurant.

Sehr gute Lage in sehr schöner Umgebung. Riesiger Park mit wunderschönem alten Baumbestand. Pool.

Zimmer sind schon ziemlich in die Jahre gekommen.

Surrounded by picturesque villages. Other guests loved the breakfast. We ate there 10 of 12 days evenings, different food each time, all French food beautifully cooked. We cut courses as Viv embarrassed couldn’t eat that much. Funny she always managed desert. Dominique and Marina are fantastic hosts, and always have a friendly smile. Both speak English, he jokes in English. Very tranquil setting, like Wisley gardens with less people. Spacious grounds down to river Vezere, with broad range of mature trees. Other guests seemed to be mainly French. Dominique has a fantastic knowledge of the area, 32 yrs at hotel and his advice on visits is an asset. There is lots to do locally. Aware of ancient remains found in France but within 15kms, early man settlements going back 10s of thousands of years including troglodytes, carved out of cliffs. Fascinating to visit and very well preserved and detail in French and English to understand how it had changed over millennia. There is chateau Closs couple kms away which is very impressive. I think furthest we visited was Beynac Castle overlooking the Dordogne. Richard lionheart fame. Surprised how honest French were on English ownership of swathes of France. Only for 38C we would have visited the other castles visible nearby. It would offer anyone a chilled base to visit a triangle area encompassing Vezere and Dordogne river valleys. So could leisurely roam around as we did or go more intense and see everything. There is a pool behind hotel well kept. Roads good and quiet. I was very surprised to see the 2 Stars on hotel as probably wouldn’t have booked it. Quickly began to appreciate the hotel and its setting. It’s rustic and not 4 star glitz, which we normally book, but bathroom has enough space, with nice shower, plenty of hot water. Bed usually firm which all hotels seem to have (I prefer softer) and we had room to hang loads of cloths, shelves and drawers. French doors with curtains leading out to grounds. Take cash euros.

Not much but because of previous expensive problems elsewhere would like a in room safety deposit box. Though it’s like the Cotswold 40 yrs ago. They don’t even lock the car. Feels very safe. Dominique offered us a safe use for valuables in their part of hotel.

Le matelas à ressorts n'est pas très confortable - Un sur matelas serait bienvenu

L’espace, le calme, le cadre, les patrons très gentils, aimables, attentionnés. J’aimerais que se soit moins loin de chez moi pour venir m’y reposer plus souvent !
