"Great roof terrace, but the apartment needs some improvements"

The apartment was in a fantastic location, less than a 10 minute walk from the bus station and an excellent supermarket. The restaurants were on the doorstep, but as the apartment was on the top floor and set back by one street from the harbour it was really quiet. The kitchen was well equipped, despite having the cooker disabled, due to a fault. The apartment was clean, nice big towels and plenty of hot water. The outstanding feature of the apartment was the roof terrace, which stretched the whole depth of the building. You went from the door of the property up one flight of shared stairs to the private terrace. Fortunately there was no-one else using any of the adjacent roof terraces, otherwise it would have less than private and quiet. There were chairs, a table and two lounger, with cushions and a parasol. There was always the choice of full sun or enough shade to avoid the sun. There was a fridge and washing machine up there as well.

The apartment was disappointing and definitely not amount that we paid for it. It was very ordinary and needed some TLC. The bathroom was poor, very badly lit and the shower grouting had significant amount of black mould, which had clearly built up over months and now the only way to remove it would be to regrout. We had to provide toilet rolls and shampoo, as only one roll was left, which when we were paying almost £200 a night (admittedly over half term), it seemed mean. The very heavy bath mat didn't look clean (it might have been, but we couldn't be certain), so we used a towel instead. There were no bedside tables, so we had to use a chair instead. We were asked by the agent/owner to let the cooker engineer in to examine the cooker (we didn't know there was a problem, as we'd used the grill element successfully the night before. The engineer, said we couldn't use it, as a part was needed. The owner/agent never came back to us to apologise or even thank us for waiting in, so we felt that there could definitely been a significant improvement in communication.

"Nice 3nights away"

Location was great and roof top terrace was wonderful

The bathroom was in need of a clean and we had to bleach the shower handover wasn’t good and no clear instructions for aircon or safe…there needs to be a contact at the weekend if there’s a problem

"Heaven- apart from the early noise"

Location facilities, roof terrace

As it is so close to the hotel car park, the noise from the delivery vans each morning. These vans deliver to all the restaurants etc in the harbour area and start about 7.15am
