Lovely location Great friendly staff even though they were very busy nothing was too much trouble. Fab and fun

Not that I didn't like it maybe a note of caution Friday music night is busy noisy raucous and great fun. If you're looking for an early night and some peace and quiet stay in one of the lodges whatever you do don't miss out on a great place. Recommend the venison mmmmm

Great hot shower and beds. The room was clean and had a lovely aspect. The pub is obviously a much loved hub of the community. Lovely and hospitable staff. Good full English breakfast in the morning.

The breakfast chef was super lovely. The view from the dining room was lovely and the room was lovely.

On turning up parking was a nightmare! After 5hrs drive and upon finally parking I tried checking in. A lady called Sarah briefly acknowledged I was there and that was that for 10 mins. A lady then came to the bar to pay her bill and was instantly served. Sarah then went to pour another local a pint. Still ignoring me waiting. Finally she only had me and not locals to deal with. Rude and ignorant is lit the word. She then took me to my room which was a hike up stairs so if youre of any disabilities then not for you. Also later on the landing was dark and no lighting working. Dangerous. The noise from the downstairs bar is horrific. One local found the need for his own self importance and swearing was every other word and continued for hours. Disgusting foul mouth. Later I went for evening meal and a much better bar lady and a good meal but again the loud mouth local was on full form. I gave up and tried to go bed but noise is horrific. If you’re after quiet this is not the stay for you. Also notice a stain on the wall that looked like dog pee in the bedroom.

Comfortable room with friendly staff, the restaurant food was excellent with generous portions.

My bed was a little hard and there was no milk or teabags in our room twice. A bit of a walk to get ourselves.
