Casa Montore by Barrio Mexico

i loved the neighborhood! quiet, quaint, and walkable. It was nestled in a unique spot of the city. the space is beautiful and peaceful. it was all very open air, large rooms, high ceilings, bohemian feel. the kitchen was lovely and there was free unlimited filtered water. your booking also does include free breakfast just up the road. the coffee is wonderful!

keep in mind w the free breakfast, the chilaquiles weren’t great at all. i recommend the sandwich! the beds were spring mattress so not my fav and the pillows were pretty flat. also the shower almost never had hot water.

Alejandra is AWESOME. The pictures on the website don't do the place justice. I almost don't want to tell anyone about it, because still want there to be a vacancy the next time I am in GDL.

As others have written, the structure of the place is such that you hear other guests. No one was too noisy when I was there, but I imagine with louder people in the other rooms it could be a problem.

The size of the room is excellent. Decor is great. The bed was very comfy. The location was great. The shared kitchen is very nice. Charming place.

The staff on the chat was a bit rude and could have been more helpful upon arrival. They sent many messages and buried in them was the code to enter. Was difficult to find. And when we asked for it, we were told to just look in the messages sent... The hallways echo with sound, so better to choose upstairs if you are a light sleeper.

Bottom line: this is an incredible deal. Very affordable rates that will get you a super comfort level stay. The location is not amazing, but good enough. In the end it's all about the value, which is rare. I booked it twice for one night and one half a day because I could afford it.

Everything is automated which has pros (super easy to check in following the instructions) and cons: they lack flexibility. When I wanted to extend my stay, there was no one to talk to on site and I had to rebook again under the same condition: checking out at 11 am, and checking again to a different room at 3 pm, even though they had 3 rooms available (out of 8 overall). But this is nitpicking. As long as the rates stays, I'd book anytime.

The design and the comfort of the location. It was peaceful and quiet. I loved the location as well.
