George & Dragon Country House Hotel

A quiet and picturesque country pub with converted outhouses, around a gravelled yard - such as a former dairy, that provides the accommodations. Parking was easy and convenient like a motel. Room was spacious, clean and well presented, bed was comfortable. Breakfast was varied and well cooked with vegetarian and vegan options. Staff were friendly and helpful and I enjoyed my brief two night stay.

The property is an old qaint setting with good rooms, food and pleasant sraff

The George and Dragon had been taken over by new owners in October 2023. The pub is in a beautiful setting with outside seating as well as a good car park. It's obvious they have redecorated it with nice neutral colours which gives it a nice bright and welcoming feeling. I stayed overnight and my room was adequate and comfortable. They are in the process of decorating all bedrooms. The staff were very friendly and the lunch and breakfast I had there was good.

Peaceful location, friendly staff, a good place to stay but close enough for enjoying the facilities in Basingstoke. Could have a sign to show where check in was

Rooms good value for money but pretty poor pub food and service. If the pub and restaurant could offer reasonable service and food this would be a very good place to stay.

We enjoyed our stay and the manager communicated with us beforehand about entry details etc It would be useful to have a sheet in the room with info about breakfast times,where to find this and choices available, also Wi-Fi details (open Wi-Fi) Otherwise all was good.

Good service, nice beer and full of character. Much more interesting than a town centre chain.

The room was large as well as the bathroom. The rooms are away from the pub so they are quiet. Good choice for dinner at the pub. Good breakfast. We had an issue with the heating but it was fixed quickly. My only negative was noisy plumbing during the night.
