23 Boutique Hotel

What a great location in a quiet residential area within walking distance to restaurants, bus terminal and a short walk to the busy Villettra sights which were very crowded especially when cruise ships are in port. The hotel serves no meals but a great coffee shop called Cafe Gurreri is on the corner across the street or walk to 22 January cafe which has great ftira sandwiches at only 2.5p euros each and other pasteries. I stayed in room 11 which was larger than other rooms with a small bacony on the second floor, very quiet area which was a great choice to be. The room was very spacious as was the large bathroom with both tub and separate shower area. There were two sink bowls in the bathroom. There was a large outdoor deck on the 4th floor for guests. The staff was wonderful which worked from 8am to 8pm when the front door is closed but you can access the hotel 24 hours with another entrance with self locking door. I stayed seven nights which gave me plenty of time to take bus or ferry services to other locations in Malta. No need to rent a car as driving is hectic and they drive very fast there and very congested. Buses have a fixed cost of 2.5 euros to go anywhere in Malta and very convenient frequencies and the buses have a sign inside with the next stop which was very helpful. Also if you have have breakfast or lunch at nearby La Luggia cafe on Saint Anna Street you get a ten percent discount when staying at 23 Botique Hotel. The room was also equipped with a small refrigerator, coffee/tea service with electric water heater pot and a bottle of water. There are plenty of Bolt and Uber vehicles but I took the direct bus TD4 from the airport to Valletta terminal for 3 Euros each way and walked the short distance to the hotel. I would stay again at 23 Botique Hotel, highly recommended! .

I would suggest the two oval mirrors above the sinks be lowered as they were mounted too high. Otherwise the hotel was perfect.

My partner and I stayed here for 4 nights and our whole experience was exceptional. The check in process was so easy and the lady on reception (dark hair) was incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay. No question was too much and her knowledge on the island and advice on where to visit/eat was well received! The location was perfect for easily exploring Valletta and accessing the rest of the island via the bus station. We had the room with the balcony and could not fault it in any way. We both left feeling relaxed and well looked after - highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Malta.

Our room was clean and tastefully decorated. We also had a lovely Maltese-style balcony. Situated just out of the main town, it was a great base to explore the city. Staff were friendly and helpful.

We didn't take the "order ahead"option for breakfast; staff recommended a fantastic coffee + pastry shop around the corner. The room was large and everything worked well. The staff were great, easy to work with, very attentive. We'll definitely return. The street was quiet. Wait times for BOLT were VERY short, I think they avoid going into the dense part of Valetta unless they accept a call, and hang out more on the periphery - close to the hotel, in other words.

We like to walk, and still, it was a bit of a hike (about 900m) to the edge of Valetta. It's either a slight uphill walk with lots of nearby traffic, or, as we did, a nice downhill walk to the harbour and then take the glass elevator up from the Birgu ferry landing to the edge of lively Valetta. IF you like to walk, it's quite pleasant, with nice views of the harbour. There were no negatives at all for the hotel.

The rooms are very new, modern and comfortable and located nearby the center of Valetta. For the late check in, clear instructions provided in advance, made it very easy!

There was a smell coming from somewhere inside the room which made the stay a bit unpleasant.
