We were blown away by the hospitable host of this hotel, she was in touch with us via WhatsApp and gave us a way to check in after hours. A special bed was made for our three year old son. She made us feel welcome during breakfast with a lovely chat and recommendations for our day. Breakfast is incredible, lots of sweet and savoury options. Made to order breakfast by a talented chef who takes pride in his work. The swimming pool was a great addition to our stay. Also be sure to say hi to the two resident owls!

While the ceiling fan helped, the room does get rather hot. Opening the windows invites the mosquitos.

"Schönes kleines Hotel für einen Aufenthalt in Struisbaai"

Wir hatten ein Familienzimmer gebucht, dass aus zwei separaten Schlafräumen bestand. Die Kinder hatten ihre eigene Dusche / WC, einen Schrank mit Büchern und Spielsachen sowie eine X-Box in ihrem Zimmer, was sicherlich für ältere Kinder sehr cool ist. Im Nebenhaus befanden sich Gemeinschaftsräume mit Sitzmöglichkeiten drinnen / draußen sowie einer kleinen Bar. Die Bezahlung der konsumierten Getränke erfolgte bei Abreise als Spende. Am Pool sind einige Liegen und Loungemöbel. Das Frühstücksbuffet war für südafrikanische Verhältnisse top: es gab Joghurt, frisches Obst, Müsli, Cornflakes, mehrere Toastsorten, Avocado und unzählige Brotaufstriche. Außerdem konnten Eierspeisen und gegrilltes Gemüse bestellt werden. Das Personal war sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Zum Hafen, zum Strand und zum Supermarkt waren es mit dem Auto nur wenige Minuten. Da der Ort sehr sicher sein soll (tatsächlich haben wir uns dort auch so sicher gefühlt wie in keinem anderen Ort in Südafrika), kann man die Strecken aber auch sehr gut zu Fuß laufen.

Ein Fenster im Kinderzimmer wäre super gewesen
