Majestic Valley Wilderness Lodge

There is a beautiful lodge but that is not where you stay. Sleep room is in a separate somewhat cheaply built bank of rooms. The staff announced there were no restaurant services that evening but we could go up the road a couple of miles to Sheep Mountain. My advice, just go to Sheep Mountain. It has nice cabins and a very nice restaurant.

Peaceful with fantastic views. Comfortable. Communal fridge and microwave for use if you take some groceries.

Could do with some blackout curtains.

Majestic Valley Wilderness Lodge is a solid spot in one of the most scenic parts of the Matanuska Valley. The views are wide open, and the setting gives you that real Alaska feel without being remote for the sake of it. The lodge itself is clean, comfortable, and well cared for. The hosts were friendly and accommodating, clearly experienced in running a place that works well for travelers. One of the highlights was the salmon dinner—fresh, flavorful, and paired with good sides. It’s clear they put thought into the guest experience as a whole, not just the basics. Having stayed at a number of places both across and off the road system, I’d say this lodge easily ranks among the better ones. Solid all around. I’d gladly stay again and recommend it to others traveling through the Matanuska area.

A truly magical experience at this lodge. We were checked in and taken down to be shown a potential room upgrade we were given. The staff was SPECTACULAR, polite, and wonderful. The room was great and the beds were comfortable. The view was unbelievable and we truly enjoyed every minute of it! There was a great room that had some wonderful amenities available to us. There was also access to the main lodge that had a restaurant, bar, and other amenities available. This was a wonderful stay for certain!
