Coras Place Bacalar Lagoon front

We were denied access to the waterfront villa we had booked and paid for due to their being no electricity. Was traveling with friend who spoke Spanish and tried to translate with staff. Was shown a different unit but wasn't what we wanted or advertised so we said no problem we will book different accomodation assuming we would obviously be refunded. Only to receive a extremely unhelpful and rude response from the property owners where they just outright lied to us about the electricity. In summary far better options closer to Bacalar. No fault of their staff just the owners are exploitave people so I would be very cautious to pay them in advance as if anything goes wrong they will take advantage of you.

Staff is not helpful to tell the exact location of dining place. And did not give wifi password when checkin. There is no signal over there. Need to walk outside to pickup signal to call customer service, Tons of mosquitos. Onsite manager room is empty, i cant find anyone. The customer service person in the phone is not helpful at all. After 30 mins call back and forth, and end up giving wrong passwords made me whole night a nightmare. The road leading there is so bumpy and slopy, if you drive a sedan, it will touch the bottom. Completely a mess. Strongly suggest booking to delist it.

The property is misrepresented for the cost. One villa smelled of sewage causing a guest to switch rooms, a toilet bidet was broken and made a horrific noise all night long causing three guests to be up all night. The air conditioning was broken in another room the entire stay and remained broken our entire stay.

Family who looking after property was so so welcoming. Lady showed all amenities, where to get fresh artisan bred( can beat fresh baked bread). Local people are very friendly. Place its a gem. Views to die for. Lake to swim and so peaceful. Colourful birds and beautiful nature sounds. Lady/ family who looks after property so welcoming and friendly made feel very comfortable and and without her would be not the same. Big thank you to them .

Hotel tranquilo y seguro, muy bien ubicado a la orilla de la Laguna Bacakar, con excelentes vistas, cómodas instalaciones y personal amable. Ampliamente recomendable.
