Regency Suites Hotel

Rooms that were booked from way before were given to someone else and then we were required to pay a higher amount for different rooms. Also the food was tasteless. Overall the service of this hotel was terrible.

Terrible hotel. TV remote didn't work. Security safe didn't work. Iron-board wasn't flat. Pool was closed for maintenance. Breakfast was very simple, coffee or tea or juice. Only one choice of breakfast per day, one day eggs, than sausages and the other day salted fish. The conference room was also really bad flies flying around. The acoustic was bad and the microphone was always failing.

This hotel is situated a few minutes walk away from Staebrook Market. Good location for the sea wall and downtown market. Right next to the cathedral and 2 blocks from the prison but overall a good spot.

I was referred to this hotel for one night , first they are under construction in the lobby area very noisy, and when we Arrived we were asked to walk on a plank which was unsafe. The interior is very nice but the room had low bed that is on spring I almost felt like I was sleeping on the floor. TV not updated, cover on the mattress was dingy looking including the sheets. We did get complimentary breakfast which was ok. It's a cheaper hotel too as far as price and the hotel staff is not very exciting to look at they all looked so depressed didn't even crack a smile.

Most of the staff here are quite nice and friendly. One young man does not smile but he is still helpful. It's a grim kind of place. I think it's probably fine if you are here with a big lively group and not spendng much time at the hotel. But if you are....i suggest you stay elsewhere. I found the hotel to be quite clean. But it seemed like they didn't really have their "act together." For instance, when I checked in one evening--they knew I was coming. THe light was not plugged in. THere was no remote for the airconditioner. The safe did not have batteries. There was no tea or coffee to go with the kettle. I had this experience again and again throughout the week. THey seemed to have no idea what to do with a guest who had an included breakfast but did not want to eat sausage stew or salt fish for breakfast, if that was the special. The menu stays the same every day and so becomes quite tiresome for someone who is there for several days. Instant coffee only in the entire hotel. They had me change rooms at one point because they could not get the AC to work....They moved me into a nice room but then I had to start all over again with all the missing items. The light switch on the lamp had fallen off but it was kept in the room anyway. A lack of attention to detail. They have two different internet providers, apparently, but still it's a bit spotty. I took a couple of walks in the neighborhood in the day, and was fine. There's a grocery store maybe 4 blocks away. Two guests were robbed at knifepoint a block from the hotel on a Sunday --they were flashing their camera and the streets are relatively quiet on Sundays. This is Georgetown. I believe they have nice banquet facilities. There is a small pool but it's uninviting.

I supposed to stay there for 3 nights and left after the first. They botched my reservation and were unapologetic about it. The room was dirty. The towels were stained and one of then had a grain of rice on it. Thank God I had two beds, because the first one I chose had bedsheets that had black and brown stains. The food was nothing worth mentioning and servers didn't care about us. I regret staying there. If I could use a single word to describe my experience, it would be "Terrible"

I was surprised this hotel was so modernized..I thought it was have been more in a local culture decor. I was decently priced and not far from Starbroek Market. Room were of nice size and bathroom was clean with a good shower. Bed were ok and the staff were friendly and willing to help with any questions.. Felt safe

The Regency Suites Hotel sits in the heart of Georgetown. A quaint hotel with adequate banquet facilities. My family held a family reunion there and the rooms were reasonably priced to hold a large amount of people coming from abroad. Though in the future we will probably hold the reunion in a more modern locale, this hotel served the purpose.

With Regency, you get what you pay for. It's not particularly clean, and the housekeeping sweep your floors with a dirty straw broom that leaves dirt and dust behind (cleaning for work, instead of cleaning to clean). The restaurant is simple, with the selection of food being rather limited, but again, you get what you pay for. It's quiet and the beds are comfortable enough, so falling asleep shouldn't be a problem. Some particularly strange things about this place are the air conditioning and shower units. The AC must be on at all times. You can turn it off, but if you do, the humidity will infest your room. This can be somewhat of an annoyance since the AC unit blows directly towards the bed. The window in the bathroom is also open, as in, there is no glass cover, just wire mesh. The water pressure in the shower gets weaker the warmer the water gets, and it can be difficult (especially for women) to get the shampoo out before the water starts turning cold. In my case, the toilet lever was also broken because the bolt locking the lever to the pulley in the box became unsecured. As a result, sometimes the toilet will not flush. Overall, it wasn't a particularly bad experience, and the bad that I encountered was expected considering the price for each night, but I would not recommend the place to anyone looking for more comfortable accommodations in Georgetown.

Nice clean stay comfortable beds, elevator, restaurant, WIFI. Great rates. I wouldn't hesitate to stay at the Regency again, pretty quiet at night. I rate this hotel a 2.5 star in U.S. standards. Front is pleasant and helpful. Our group requested wake up calls for our early flight but none were received.
