Hotel Calendas

I liked the security of the hotel. You must ring a bell to enter the hotel and request the be opened to exit the hotel. They sell bottled water, sodas and snacks in the lobby. There is a secured parking area provider for tenants. The hotel is very quiet at night so you can rest well. There is a designated area for smokers. The staff are very friendly. The room was very clean and fresh. The linen is changed every three days, however, you can request it be changed daily if you like. No alcohol is allowed in the hotel.

You don't seem to be allowed to come and go as you please at any time. The staff expressed that I should not attempt to return to the hotel late at night since they have to get up and open the door for me. It felt uncomfortable asking to have the door opened to enter and exit the hotel. Staff sits at a table in the lobby overlooking all of the rooms. It feels like you are being watched the whole time you are there. As a visitor to the city, you want to go out and see the sights and return to the hotel for whatever reason, but, it feels uncomfortable to enter and exit several times having to request the door be opened each time. I was also asked not to ring the bell to enter for very long because it will disturb the other guest.

For a couple of nights this place was more than adequate. The location is decent with a variety of food options close by and it's not far from the bus station. The room was a little bit tired, but clean and the bed was good. Wifi worked well and it had cable tv. The shower was warm and the water pressure good. Reception sold a variety of snacks which came in handy. The property is very secure, with the outside gate being locked at all times.

Nothing to dislike really.

If you like Disneyland this is your place. The rooms are spread far apart from the main central area and you have to take carts or walk long distances to get anywhere. Everything is overpriced and overly touristic.

We arrived a the hotel around 5 pm and the we were told that the room wasn’t ready to wait about an hour to an hour in a half to check-in (mind you, check-in time is supposed to be at 3pm) He suggested we go eat or something; we had been driving for 9.5 hour so we had no desire to go anywhere else. We just needed a shower or to relax. So we ended up staying somewhere else. Horrible service and attitude from the staff, the area is not very welcoming so say the least, Trash on the streets, homeless people everywhere. I wasn’t impressed with the town nor the hotel. Please do your research before booking this hotel.

Very nice hotel! Dog friendly too. The location is perfect as it is close to downtown and the parque central. The staff were very nice. I will definitely stay here when I return to Salina Cruz.

This is a nice, dog friendly hotel with secure parking in a quiet part of Salina Cruz. I’ll definitely return.
