Its proximity to the beach & the one evening meal we had was good local food.

The room was not appropriate for four people. It was advertised for 4 but only had two single beds and one small sofa bed for 2 teenagers. Which was not appropriate to sleep in. The dressing room and wardrobe were none existent; not as described and totally misleading for what was there. Again totally inadequate for 4 people. The price for four nights together with the description was positioned as a small luxury hotel. This was totally misleading. The facilities were far from advertised. It is no more than a B&B villa with bedrooms. We sat outside on the terrace for 2 hours, no staff were available to order a drink. The breakfast was poor, ticking what you wanted on arrival for the next 4 days. No buffet, selection or dietary choices. We left early after complaining with no offer of a refund. The girl at checkout on discovering we were leaving 2 days early made no comment. A VERY disappointing stay and not a good reflection on Portuguese hospitality.

The food - dinner AND breakfast was exceptional. The lodging felt very private and eco-wellness amongst larger resorts nearby. I would come to Portugal AGAIN just to stay at this place. Absolutely beautiful and a welcome break to my day of walking on the Camino - it did turn out that it was a couple miles off the Camino BUT I would do it again. I was able to get an Uber the next morning to take me back to the Camino trail since I had a very long day of walking ahead so saving a couple of miles was crucial. Uber was excellent.
