Oceans Edge

Being right on the beach and within a few miles of some fabulous restaurants and grocery plus a short drive or Uber to historic downtown and they accept pets.

Somewhat disappointed 1st the Original Pin # given us for the front the door didn't work so we had to call to have it reset! The pictures on the web were better than in person tho The place looked nice outside but very rustic with dark wood walls everywhere, needs to be brighter. The walk in shower in the ocean view room on the left (where we slept) had very touchy handles and if turned wrong by just a hair, a person could get scalded, the toilet leans to the left and there were no grab bars for assistance (thinking of older guests)in any of the bathrooms. The couch cushions have ripped/torn edges on a few of the cushions and we found heavy dust on most of the windows, top of fridge and other areas. No screens on some of the front windows so we couldn't open them for cross breezes. There are so many rules and regulations in the contract to abide by or chance getting additional charges added to your card on file , like moving furniture without putting them back??? I was surprised the place wasn't in a more pristine condition especially for the large fee we were paying for 5 nights! The Yard needed a weed eater to make it a bit more tidy outside and the Housekeeping that was performed prior to our arrival was minimal in my opinion (and I took photos of some issues) but the place was comfy and with most of the conveniences of home. We, the guests, even had to strip our own beds prior to check out! After we checked out, I received a phone call a day later asking where we had moved the couch cushions too, which I replied that We never touched, how can couch cushions be missing and why would we take or move them?? They definitely need repairs or replaced as they are severely worn and frayed. Then I had to call them due to my sister in law left a gold necklace hanging on the lamp in the room where they stayed of which thankfully they found but are going to charge me not only the return shipping fee (,which is fair) but a $25 handling fee, for what???

The house was so spacious and very comfy. The beach was right outside the door - exactly what we wanted.

There is nothing bad to say

We liked the location and view. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and pots but no can opener that worked. Also, the handle on the freezer comes off when you try to open the freezer. My husband had to repair one of the blinds on the front of the house because it had fallen down. Just minor replacements.

I understand that there was a storm the weekend before our arrival, but we would have expected the outside of the home to be a lot cleaner. You could not sit anywhere because there was so much sand. We had to spray everything off with the hose. The inside had sand in every bedroom. We had to take time out of our vacation to get the floors cleaned up before our adult children arrived.
