CASA CAULI agriturismo

This place is run with real heart and is a proper agriturismo: the owner (and chef) grows what he serves and the food is fantastic. Book for dinner. Very well restored, excellent big bed and modern bathroom. All in all very good value. We were cycling and nothing was too much trouble.

Our plane got delayed and we arrived at 11:30pm on a Sunday, but the owner waited for us and had prepared a light dinner as requested. He set up a cute table in our room. It was delicious, cheeses, vegetables, savory cakes and wine. Just perfect. This place is way better in real life. Everything is perfect, the room was cozy and impeccable. I can’t recommend this place enough. We hope one day to come back again. Don’t hesitate to stay in this beautiful place.

It was a perfect experience and this place takes the 3rd place in my personal rating of the BnB places to stay at (1st - 1st WW bunker , which was redesigned to hotel, Krakow; 2nd - Matera hotel in the cave). 1. The location is fabulous. That's totally understandable, that you need a car to get to this village. But it's so quiet, you feel nature that surrounds you, you feel this tranquility. 2. The house itself is gorgeous. It seems like the owner Michelangelo (sorry for spelling) has renovated an old house, which is about 100 years. It's made of stone, the interior includes those old elements and stone walls. At the same time it's so clean and tidy, you can't even imagine! 3. The intention to the details is surprising. Michelangelo put those waffel-towels, he uses hand-made original soap, and my room even had a fireplace! I've never lied in a bad with a fire burning in the fireplace, staying in a hotel! 4. Owner himself is very kind and helpful. He explained everything and really cared about me feeling well. He lives in the other house, so he came just to help me with checking in and with the breakfast. I totally appreciate it! 5. Michelangelo also gave me a recommendation to visit Certosa in Padula, which is 10 minutes by car from the hotel. Awesome experience thanks a lot! 6. Breakfast was also interesting with some special atmosphere, because I was offered to make toasts with an open fire in a fireplace. It really makes your morning special. 7. I had one of the best nights there. I slept so well, and it was raining at night, so I could hear this quite sound of drops hitting the roof. Fabulous! Thanks a lot for this experience!

Not reasons to make the mark lower, just little thoughts: 1. Rooms are at the first floor and a big fireplace with a huge beautiful living room are at the ground floor. I wanted to spend evening next to this big fireplace, but ground floor is closed (I believe, because Michelangelo have his items in there, so it's a safety reason). It's a bit sad, but I had a fireplace in my room, so it's totally ok) 2. It could be an advantage to have something hot for breakfast too. An egg or an omelette. Just as an idea for future.

It is located in a peaceful place with wonderful garden, view on the mountains and just a few minutes drive from UNESCO heritage site which is a must see. The owner and his family are nice and friendly. They served amazing food made using local ingredients and traditional techniques.

good communication with the owner. easy to find and park near the door. warm welcome. Large garden with seating. Dinner was excellent and produced with products sourced locally. we toasted bread on the open fire and chatted to the other two guests. we will certainly come back
