Manistee National Golf and Resort

We chose this hotel because its animal friendly, and has 9+ rating. When we checked in initially the lady was on the phone trying to settle something and as if we did not arrive and stayed on the phone for awhile. We checked in on welcoming words or explained where are the pool located or time of breakfast etc. Its our 1st time in manistee area so we asked her what are nice places to do? She replied , she is not frim the area so she is not familiar to places 😗. So we thought the rating was over rated. We ate in the restaurant the lady that served us is very friendly and willing to converse and we discovered that this hotel is family friendly and has some family board game etc. The nice vacation starts there. Its homey ambiance and friendly people. It feels like family owned business. Thank you so much!!! To all staff who made our stay comfort. Oh the BED was awesome soft and comfortable and the pillows are soft too whick most hotel has bulky and hurts my neck. Theirs is not. Small bathroom, and the room is basic but still nice service.

Staff were not friendly at check in, gave a list of “don’ts”so long my head was spinning. Outdoor hot tub was locked and no towels were available without a trip to the front desk. Lights in the pool were not turned on until well after dark. The fire pit and lawn games only happened because visitors set up / lit the fire. Staff was not helpful at all. Breakfast was very poor… worst ever seen! Attitude at check out matched the entire stay. Don’t go out of your way to stay here. It’s not worth it. Reviews oversell this run down facility.

The golf club is quiet and has a beautiful lobby. We stayed in Manistee for 1 night visiting family so we didnt use the course or outdoor amenities. The hotel room itself was clean and smelled fresh but the carpet was stained, not only in the room but in the hallway on the 2nd floor. The room we booked was supposed to have 2 queen beds but they were definitely full sized. The a/c worked well. The bathroom was also clean, grout, tub, etc were in good clean condition. We were given early check in at 2 which was extremely helpful. I called to pre-arrange it. Its an average hotel. Had an average continental breakfast. The only hot items were waffles which was a little disappointing but there was a good assortment of cold items. For the price it was fine for a 1 night stay.

Property and the pools were absolutely gorgeous.

We liked the room size and amenities. It was large and felt comfortable. It was clean and tidy. Check in was a bit rough, the attendant stated that she typically worked third shift and to please excuse her lack of knowledge. Because we booked through Expedia she hadn’t asked for my credit card at check in and called and asked me to bring it so she could enter the information. The breakfast had waffles that you could make yourself other than those nothing else was hot. We were a little bit disapointed with that.

We arrived at about 8pm...checked in & was told the restaurant was located down the path behind the property...& was only serving until 8:30pm! It was a only a partially lit pathway! The restaurant was extremely LOUD with a large group of women (like 25 of them!) It was so loud the waitress didn't hear my husband selection & brought him out only an appetizer of cheese patties & greens. He ate it up because we were just hungry & tired after a long day of travel! She compensated him with a free glass of wine!

Just a one night stop on our way from Wisconsin to Shipshewana, Indiana down the coast of Lake Michigan. The resort is just outside of town and our room overlooked the pool and course. People enjoyed gathering around the fire pit & pool area.

The indoor and outdoor pools and spas were fantastic. All of the grounds and interior were very well kept. Very clean

Loved our stay and live music on Fridays were a bonus. If I came to golf I would stay here every time

Very nice staff. Very relaxing and convenient. Strongly recommend.
