You definitely need a car

The host was so lovely. I have experienced many lovely host's, however she went over and beyond for me to feel welcomed. The property was outstanding, clean, and comfortable. We need a reason to stay there again. The garden is out of this world, peaceful and well kept. The beds??? Wow so so comfy! Believe me when I say you will love staying here. Thank you so much for having us DM.

Nice and quiet place, apart from the train which passes near the property. This is not a big deal actually as overnight probably there are no any. Breakfast is not served, but there are a few pubs and restaurants nearby where to eat if you don't want to cook yourself (kitchen is available for that). Very satisfied. Thanks

It is advertised as a self-contained bathroom, whereas it was a shared bathroom. Directions to the property were very poor and I was not told that the road was closed off with various Diversions which created difficulties finding the accommodation. The Host did show me around the property and gave a welcome and mentioned noisy workmen would be coming early. I asked about the nearest place to eat or to buy food, and she told me to go into Hook, a few miles away. Unfortunately, by the time I came back it had become dark and despite numerous attempts I was unable to find the property and had to spend an uncomfortable night in my car parked up beside a road in this rural area. I contacted the owner Debbie, and then blame appeared to be apportioned to me that I had arrived just before 8:30 the previous evening so was surprised that I could not find it. A message was sent by Debbie on the messaging system that she had done my washing in lieu of my missed night`s accommodation which was untrue as she and her Husband both said separately that the room was as how I left it (all of my washing, bags etc were still untouched) and the message has since been deleted. I had further problems finding the accommodation after agreeing to collect my belongings and return the keys so phoned Debbie but she was unable to direct me and then she ended the call whilst I was still trying to find the property. Debbie said she was annoyed that roads had been closed off but she was fully aware of the Diversions and nearby road closures. Her Husband was waiting when I arrived that afternoon to collect my belongings and was making the same comments saying that I was seen on their CCTV arriving the previous evening in daylight, and I reminded him that I subsequently had to go out following my enquiries with Debbie as no food was provided after a long day working. There was no apology or offer for a partial refund. Notably they state in writing of recurrent client problems finding West View Lodge.

The hosts were very helpful & friendly. The room was comfortable, including the bed & spotless. I could use the shared kitchen..fridge & microwave. They put in tea & coffee for me. Supermarkets close by.

The location is next to a train track & electricity pylons. It didn't bother me..but people should be aware.

From arriving everything was perfect and ready for our stay. Debbie greeted us and made us very welcome. The lodge was more spacious than imagined when booking. The location off the main road had easy parking and access. The hosts had left fresh milk and other essentials - as this was self catering this wasn't expected but a welcome bonus. We were attending the Farnborough Airshow on business and West View Lodge was much more comfortable than hotels we had used in previous years. Would highly recommend.

Not the fault of West View Lodge, but if you arrive late afternoon on a Sunday, most local pubs/food places seem to close early. However, we found a top notch place in the nearby village of Hook - The Hook Tandoori

Debbie kept us informed prior to arrival and was very pleasant when we met her. There was milk, washing up liquid and shower gel and shampoo left for us, which was very helpful with a self catering accommodation. On site parking and a self-contained lodge, made coming and going easy. We only really slept there as we had travelled to visit our daughter.

The lodge is right next to a train track, and the trains are quite frequent. You did get used to it eventually. The lodge is fairly basic, but at a reasonable price and clean and comfortable.
