Food at the pub is excellent! Too bad the squeaky bed was uncomfortable. We loved the village and people.

Comfortable beds and clean rooms. There was a noisy extractor fan or generator somewhere very close that ran all night. A kettle would have been better in than a fancy coffee machine.

Check-in was at the bar. Staff were very friendly and helpful. There's limited on street parking but I was lucky enough to a space right outside. The food in the bar/restaurant looked superb and it was fairly busy when I got there, however I didn't try the food as I already had other plans for the evening. I did have a drink at the bar and the prices were reasonable. I was shown to my room, which was in a separate block adjacent to the bar and beer garden. The ground floor room was clean and comfortable, with a private bathroom, and tea/coffee provided. The room was ideal for my stay.

Stayed in the 'Fox' room. Generally pretty good, staff welcoming and very central in Chagford. Parking limited, curtains very thin (went very close to the summer solstice, so woken very early). I would recommend the 'Hound' room downstairs as we were in one of the two upstairs rooms and there is very little sound insulation between the rooms and noise from the other room kept us awake.
