The Postcard Galle

The people working in the hotel were the most welcoming and engaging I have ever encountered. There was a genuine care and interest. Super good service and nice talks with all the staff. The hotel was super nice and the food menu amazing.

There is no beach at the hotel. The garden is so amazing but it hides the magnificent sunset.

Beautiful hotel and very friendly staff

We stayed in August and was seemingly low season. The pool can be made more welcoming. We were missing the sun beds with mattresses and comfortable outdoor seatings/ some coziness.

This is a small, but well run hotel. Before our arrival we received messages / emails from the management asking if we had any special requests that would make our stay more comfortable. I was impressed by their efficiency and this was a good indication of how well this hotel is run. We were met on arrival with a choice of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks and cold face cloths. The room and public areas were all very clean and well kept. We stayed during low season so the menu in the restaurant was limited but they were happy to provide meals not on the menu on request. ( subject to availability obviously) The first cup of tea or coffee of the day is complimentary and the staff will happily bring this to your room at any time you request. Breakfast can be taken at any time convenient to you. The staff are amazing, very friendly and helpful, it’s almost like staying with friends! Special thanks to Bharatvir for arranging all our day trips and for the river safari recommendation- it was wonderful!

Unfortunately we mistakenly believed from the description on Booking.Com that the hotel was on the beach and near the centre of Galle. It was neither - it faces the sea but there is no beach and only a very small sunbathing area alongside the pool. There was no-where in the vicinity to walk to in the evening but it was only a 10 minute tuk-tuk ride into Galle Forte area where there are good restaurants and shops. Approximate cost of this was 2000 Sri Lankan rupees ( approx 5 USD).

It was very personalised. A very warm welcome - a seat and the offer of a drink . Then total attention the whole time which was lovely . Aethetically stunning place!

The property was beautiful. Artfully designed, large comfortable rooms. Full of character. The staff was lovely...eager to help

The room could have had a mirror and a hairdryer...TV also not there but we didn't miss that.

The overall layout. A quaint boutique property that gives you all the feels of Galle. The manager Bharat was extremely welcoming and helpful. He helped us plan our activities in Galle.

We absolutely loved our stay here! The hotel was stunning, every corner was beautifully and thoughtfully decorated. The staff were brilliant and could not do enough to help us. Our room was beautiful as well, with all of the smaller details considered. Our only regret is we couldn’t stay longer. We would have loved another day or two, we felt so relaxed and the children loved the pool which felt so tropical with all the trees and flowers surrounding it. Breakfast was fantastic, a great choice and the tastiest pancakes! We would not hesitate to stay again, or try out another Postcard hotel. It really was one of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed in, we especially loved the fact that it was small and we get like it was our own villa. Thank for a brilliant time.
