Loved this property, luxury getaway in a beautiful little village. Spacious, beautiful shower, huge comfy bed.

Beautiful and comfortable. The bed was large and plenty of amenities provided. Close to transport and convenience stores. Would recommend if you are planning on doing the Loop.

Check in time was quite late at 5pm.

Our 2-night stay at Hotel ZAGAKUKAN (7-9 Dec 2025) was fantastic. We chose it because it fit our budget while still looking classy and cozy, and it certainly exceeded expectations! The superior twin room (23㎡) was perfect — slightly more spacious than the standard double (21㎡). I absolutely loved the room setup; the beds were super comfy and snuggly, providing a lovely, subtle ryokan vibe despite not being a futon on tatami. The hotel truly spoiled us with amenities and toiletries! We were provided with everything: yukata, pajamas, bathrobes, a full set of skincare products, and even a facial mask. While check-in is late at 5 PM, the late 1 PM check-out balanced it perfectly. The highlight, however, was the private indoor onsen bathtub — that was the whole point of our booking. In terms of location, it's a short 7-minute walk from Hakone-Yumoto Station, and there are plenty of dining options nearby. For the price, this stay was an incredible value and super duper worth it.

Be prepared for a small flight of stairs to the lobby with your bags.
