Nice 3B 2BA Near Downtown 2 Min AtandT Center

Located close to everything we needed.

We stayed during the stockshow (why we were in San Antonio) and traffic was a little loud at night, but that was expected!!

This was a last minute reservation as the Vrbo property I rented cancelled upon my arrival & we needed a quick 1-night stay to get our situation resolved. The staff was helpful in getting checked in within an hour of reservation. This is more of a Vrbo type rental than a hotels.com traditional hotel room. The house is old, while it seemed moderately clean, the age and disrepair could use some tending to. There was a vent panel falling off a wall. There were several empty beer cans in the front yard. Checking in late, there was no lighting to illuminate the address. It's on a main street, so we ended up driving by it twice while trying not to slow down so much that we were impeding traffic. It's an awkward set-up. The master bedroom w/ king bed was right at the entry of the house & did not have an ensuite bathroom. The room that did have an ensuite bathroom was set up with a bunk bed system. The kitchen is offset w/ a lip a couple inches higher than the living room. Not tall enough to be a step which made it a trip hazard. They did try and highlight it with a safety marker, but it didn't stop everyone in my family from stumbling on it at least once during our stay. The most awkward thing is apparently the house had another rental property in the rear. We had parked our vehicles in the driveway and was awakened a little after 11pm by other guests banging on the front door asking us to move our cars so they could get access to the rear property.

The house isn’t in the best neighborhood although it is very close to the event center we went to. But I was scared at night due to homeless people around. The house was very hot when we arrived but did cool down into the evening.

The towels were nice.

As someone who rarely posts negative reviews, I feel compelled to share my recent experience at this vacation rental, which was unfortunately far from what I expected. Growing up on the southwest side of San Antonio, I'm no stranger to the quirks of older homes or being in a working class neighborhood by any means, but the issues here were hard to overlook. First off, the fly problem inside the rental was pretty overwhelming, and dealing with roaches (we encountered at least five) was definitely not part of our vacation plan. The living room's futon, which we hoped would be a cozy spot, turned out to be incredibly lumpy, rigid, and unusable. To add to that, the TV had this odd volume issue where it would randomly blast sound or go completely silent, making relaxing evenings a bit more challenging. And about the surprise maintenance work with grinding and what sounded like a jack hammer on the front porch – a heads-up would have been much appreciated. The worker was a nice guy, don't get me wrong, but we would have preferred to know in advance or for the work to be done when guests aren't around. I really hope this feedback helps in making the necessary improvements. A comfortable and pest-free environment would have made our stay so much more enjoyable.
