Pension Ashitaya

Good location with nice foral view. Easy to access upper town and lower town by driving. Above all, friendly owner Gimmy is willing to share local knowledge which is very helpful for this staying.

Super friendly family/owners. Incredible food. Relaxing location. Nice pool to cool off. Easy access to the beach and ruins.

Pension Ashitaya is an excellent place to stay as a base for skiing/snowboarding in Furano. The owner Jimmy-san is a kind man who graciously provided transport to and from the slopes and a restaurant every day. Outstanding value with the tatami and shared bathroom/ bath onsen. Truly exceeded expectations. Humble Japanese hospitality at its finest.

Jimmy was so accommodating. He went out of his way to get us to the hill and skiing. The food was excellent. Stay here.

Don't even THINK about staying anywhere else if you visit Furano. We have been traveling for 9 weeks in Japan and this was our favorite. There are simply not enough words to describe the help, kindness, fun, laughter, and great time we had during our two stays there. The food was outstanding, Jimmy's English is very good, the beds are great, rooms are large and clean, and the advice and help he gave us exceeded anything we have received in Japan so far. So, thanks again Jimmy and we would love to come back and see you again!!!

We loved everything

Jimmy San was extremely hospitable and helpful. He gave us tips on places to go to, and helped us to get in touch with a lake tour guide when we had difficulty booking a tour. The instructions to get to the Pension was very clear and breakfast was wonderful! Loved the fresh ingredients used in the healthy and hearty breakfast. Thank you Jimmy San!

Wonderful place, quiet, comfortable, clean and great beds! The food was fantastic. The host has very good English, a good sense of humor, and helped us enormously. We had a great time and will be returning in a few weeks. One of the best places we have stayed at on our 9 week trip to Japan.
