Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Rocky Mount

STAY AWAY- ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE STATUS!! I recently stayed at this hotel and was extremely disappointed. As a Marriott Bonvoy Titanium Elite loyal customer, I receive certain perks for my loyalty. One of them is a guaranteed 4:00 checkout that was confirmed with the staff member at check in. Later in the evening, I noticed this was not reflected in my Bonvoy app and reached out via chat to the front desk. I was told I was speaking to the manager Cam who denied my request because of staffing and weather issue. While I can understand, I did not see any signs of precipitation upon arriving in Rocky Mount nor have control of his staff. I told Cam that I was guaranteed the late check out and a staff member confirmed and was told that wasn't the case. Cam insinuated I lied about what I was told and denied my late check out. Since he was wrong, my daughter had to ride 5 hours in the car after an all day sports event. While not the end of the world, it was a inconvenience as we expected to have the room based on my status. I reached out to Marriott about this issue and this hotel didn't bother responding. Thankfully Marriott addressed this issue and I will be sure no one from our organization stays at this location for our two upcoming sports events in Rocky Mount this year. Also, be aware of Cam as he is not honest! There are plenty of other Marriott locations in Rocky Mount!

After a 9 1/2 hour drive we stopped here as we have many a time. Unfortunately this time it was different. The room given had a broken TV. After waiting almost 1 hour to confirm this we were given a second room that had NO HEAT. A staff person came to the room to confirm and remarked that it was freezing in there. The front desk woman told us that there were no more rooms available which was a lie and had an attitude of take it or leave it. Marriott Reservations had no problem having her change our room a 3rd time. None of this was our fault. So disappointed after using hotel many times. They would not credit us back any of the 15,500 points we used. Again a major disappointment. Going forward changing hotels

Very nice hotel

This was a very terrible experience. We were in Room 328. First, the bathroom door wouldn't close, but that isn't the reason for this review. The HVAC was loud. It wasn't so noticeable until we went to bed and then the fan woke us up roaring like a jet engine. I tried to change settings and it seemed better for a while, but woke us up again at 1AM. I dressed and went down to the Front Desk to explain the situation, but the attendant kept telling me to go back to my room, reset the HVAC and wait for 15 minutes. It told her it was 1AM and I just wanted a new room so we could get some rest. I even asked that she come and listen to it, but she said she couldn't. After about 5 minutes, the attendant finally gave me a new room. I asked if my wife and I could leave my our belongings until the next morning, but she was insistent that we gather everything and move it to the new room. Finally, we got settled in our new room, but it wasn't easy to fall asleep after the exchange and having to gather and move everything. Due to that, we woke up late and the breakfast was being removed. I will never stay at this place again. I was hoping for some compensation, but since I went through a third party, all I got was an "I'm sorry" by the morning desk attendant.

Well, the room above have had an angry woman wo stomped from 11:30pm until 1:30am. She then started again at 5:30am. After only getting 2 hours sleep due to this the fire alarm went off and we got dressed, grabbed our phones and it was chaos. Upon making it out of the room the alarm stopped. So after having basically no sleep due to their insanely terrible pillows $169+tax dollars later I had to make the last 8 hours leg of our trip on solid ice with no sleep. I would have driven the whole way through if I had known I was going to pay for a nice room and think I would get some rest. Stay at your own risk. If I had known I would have to drive alone with my 15yo with the intention of getting sleep but actually none at all, I would have gone somewhere else.

Only person on duty during check in and she has to run around taking care of all customers. Shower pressure is low and bathroom lacking toiletries used to be in the Marriott hotels. Room service started waking us up early to check out. Had three knocks at our door before 11 AM Check out used to be at noon why this location wants you out by 11 AM? Marriott member since 1998 and have seen service and quality going down over this time.

Property was booked once we arrived!!! And no one notified us!

Hotel was almost empty on Christmas night but we managed to get what I would consider a sub-standard room. The bed was low - just about on the floor. Very difficult to get out of. Faucet in bathroom was very difficult to move. No outlets on one side of king bed. No hand soap.
