Altroiterhof

The room had every thing we needed. The owner thought of all the small details. The view is amazing, you see all the lake the surrounding mountIns and the church from the balcony. And the location is a short five minutes walk to the center of town. Perfect vacation.

Pictures don't do justice to the actual beauty of this place - it puts the phrase "picture perfect" to shame. My husband and I sat on our private balcony every day, in the freezing cold wrapped in duvets, mesmerised by how majestic St. Wolfgang and Lake Wolfgangsee are. We have very busy lives in London therefore wanted to start the new year on a relaxed note, and could not have chosen a better place. The Altroiterhof hosts are the friendliest people in the world. Not only did they insist on picking and dropping us to and from the bus station (they didn't want us to carry our luggage up and down a hill), but also left fresh bread rolls every morning at 8am sharp quietly outside our apartment. These were at an additional price from the local bakery, which we didn't mind paying at all. We were also upgraded to a nicer flat at no additional cost. Hosts were always on hand to answer any queries and the surrounding areas are SO beautiful. It was like a snowy fairytale - we couldn't stop marvelling at how unreal it looked. Most things were closed for the season which we knew of before we travelled and didn't mind - it was actually a lot of fun cooking in the kitchen and enjoying local walks and taking things slow. Cafes and restaurants were open sporadically so people can always find something open (including the local supermarket!). The accommodation is located on a hill though, so that's something to keep in mind for those with mobility issues. I cannot recommend this place enough and cannot wait to return. A great family hotel, amazing side, wonderful views. Quietness and peaceful atmosphere! The hosts are always trying to do their best for each guest. They even made us some tea upon our request the evening when we arrived.

As it was really cold and rainy these days, tea facilities in the room would be really great! And the pillows are so soft and small. Maybe you could add an extra set of pillows for those who are getting older.

Apartment is a little out of the city,in the nature but in the same time very close to wonderful St.Wolfgang. View from a balcony is amazing. You will have direct view on the lake. Surrounding is realy nice for walking, a lot of greenery around. Apartment is spacious and well equipped. Kitchen is also well equipped,I only missed dishwasher. House has interesting interior, you can see history of the family and house on the pictures on the wall. Very nice. Hosts are very kind and always available. We realy spent nice time there. If we have a chance we will glade to come again.
