Hostal Pablito

This was our favourite stay in our month long trip to South America. The staff were all so lovely and so hardworking. It felt really safe and chilled out. The rooms were spotless and the pool was lovely.

Atendimento excelente da equipe, a excepcional Célia faz de tudo para que o hóspede tenha uma boa experiência. Quarto confortável, extremamente limpo e organizado, preparam lanche para quem tem que sair antes do café da manhã, tem lavanderia sob demanda. Todo o essencial para uma estadia tranquila e confortável.

O quarto para casal, embora confortável, pareceu um pouco pequeno para quem está com muita bagagem. Claro que se trata de um Hostel e isso já era perceptível pelas fotos, que são bastante fiéis, mas in loco ficou mais evidente.

The hostal is clean and there is a kitchen available where you can prepare food if needed.

None of the staff speak English, which is fine (this is Chile after all!) but they didn't make much of an effort to communicate the rules and facilities available. If you don't want English-speaking guests, just specify that in the listing. I had to specifically ask a bunch of questions to get information out of the lady at reception about the hostal. She didn't mention that you have to schedule a time for breakfast, so the first morning we just showed up for breakfast and she scolded us for not signing up for a timeslot! How would we have known that if you don't tell us?! I've been travelling for 9 months and this is the first accommodation I've encountered that required you to pre-book your breakfast slot. I assumed it was so they could have things prepared beforehand for the guests, but on both subsequent mornings, breakfast wasn't ready yet at the time we scheduled! What is the point of the advanced scheduling for breakfast if you guys aren't ready for the people who signed up for the timeslot? The room was also incredibly hot at night with very little way to cool it down. The location is also terrible. We spent 4 days in a different accommodation closer to the main strip in San Pedro before staying at this place for the last 3 days of our stay. The other accommodation was only a 4 minute walk to the main strip, cheaper, cooler at night and quieter! There are for sure better places to stay in San Pedro.
