Beautiful setting at an authentic Buddhist temple, felt very privileged to have been there and taken part in the morning prayers

Staff are friendly, they don’t speak English tho, food is amazing! I loved prayers in the morning, gorgeous Mountain Views & the cafe is so cute.

The pillow was like a bean bag and not good for my neck

Beautiful location with view of the mountains. Great hospitality with a very kind family. Clean, traditional Japanese room.

Steep uphill track from the train station, but if you let the host know in advance they will kindly collect you in their car!

Breakfast was great and location in the beautiful mountains was really nice- easy access to yoshino area. Hosts were lovely and very accommodating, they helped me rent a bike which was a great way to see the lake and surroundings. The room was also perfectly set up and it felt quite authentic. The cultural experiences you can participate in were one of the highlights of my stay here!

The new year special breakfast. It was probably a perfect new year special breakfast, but it wasn't to our taste. There were no kitchen facilities.
