It was the perfect city getaway! We loved our stay in this small town and an area where we are close to the nature!! We went to saw the birds and flamingos near the lagoon and it was lovely. The Quinta feels so much like home, just comes with an ancient chapel as if it’s normal for all houses hahaha. Thank you for making us feeling so comfortable!! It is a very clean and well maintained house, with so much history and importance to its community. If you’re looking for travelling for sustainably and contributing to the local community, this should definitely be your choice!

"A tranquil and memorable space on this amazing coast"

The beautiful setting of the farm was located centrally within the village but also felt peaceful and secluded as it was surrounded by its own grounds full of nature. Francisco was an excellent host who looked after our needs and provided plenty of information regarding the local area and history of his wonderful ancestral home. We stayed in the Dona Maria room which looked out onto the autumnal plane trees and peacocks of the courtyard and also looked out onto the farm animals grazing below and the lagoon beyond. The historic features of the room made it a unique place to stay but it was very comfortable as well. Breakfast was served in the splendid surroundings of the family's own dining room. A varied selection of tasty cold meats, cheeses, breads, and pastries were provided with fruit, cereal, and yoghurt as a healthier option. The coffee and fruit juices were great and the attention of the hosts meant they never ran out. We found the Quinta to be an ideal base for days exploring the stunning beaches, cliffs, and lagoon of Foz do Arelho and for visiting the old streets of Óbidos and the independent shops of Caldas da Rainha.
