La Catrina Hostel

Location.

My experience at *La Catrina Hostel* in San Miguel de Allende was **extremely disappointing**, honestly one of the worst I’ve ever had in any accommodation. Right from arrival, I noticed the place was **poorly maintained and full of mosquitoes**, both in the room and in the common areas. It was impossible to rest without getting bitten. For a place that hosts travelers daily, the minimum would be to keep it clean and comfortable, which is clearly not the case here. The **Wi-Fi simply doesn’t work inside the rooms**, which is unacceptable nowadays. I had to go to the common area every time I needed to use the internet, which was very inconvenient, especially at night when the area was full of mosquitoes. I tried to ask the reception for some basic information, like transport tips, schedules, or even details about the hostel itself, but the staff seemed **completely unprepared and uninterested** in helping. It felt like I was bothering them just by asking simple questions. The worst part happened on **checkout day**. I was about 20 minutes late to leave, and the man at the reception came to me in an **extremely rude and aggressive way**. He raised his voice, spoke disrespectfully, and even **threatened me physically**, as if he was about to attack. It was a very uncomfortable and frightening situation, especially because I was traveling alone and never expected such behavior from someone working in hospitality. I honestly just wanted to leave as fast as possible after that. In short, *La Catrina* is a **disorganized, poorly managed hostel with bad infrastructure and hostile service**. I strongly do **not recommend** staying here — there are plenty of other hostels in San Miguel de Allende that surely treat their guests with the respect, comfort, and safety every traveler deserves. ```

Cama amplia y comoda. Limpieza diaria. Agua disponible 24h. Desayuno sencillo pero suficiente: café, leche, infusiones, tostadas con mantequilla y mermelada y fruta. Buena ubicación, a 10 min de la plaza principal.

Poca presión de agua en la ducha. Cortinas que dejan pasar la luz. Falta algún mueble para colocar la maleta.

Location. Confort. Accueil. propreté. Cuisine disponible

Ofrecer desayuno es buena idea y puedes conocer a más gente allli. Tienen una terraza muy bonita, en sí el hostal está lindo

Como en todos lados, algunos recepcionistas más simpáticos que otros. Los baños a veces en la noche están sucios, pero es porque es el final del día y creo q los limpian en la mañana, quizás un repasito en la tarde no viene mal.

Cadre agréable, personnel accueillant et disponible, situation géographique. La chambre que nous avions donnait sur un palier extérieur.

Mais nous avons vu que d'autres chambres n'avaient pas de fenêtre et donnaient sur un couloir intérieur. Si une telle chambre nous avait été attribuée, on aurait pas du tout aimé !

La terrasse, superbe pour le couché de soleil L'emplacement est bon sans être dans l'hypercentre Le petit-déjeuner compris, même si celui-ci n'est pas très copieux (supplément pour œufs)

L'isolation des chambres qui donnent sur rue La propreté n'était pas parfaite

Location is great. Very close to everything but in quiet area. Front staff helpful if have questions. Fruit and toast included in price and can buy cooked eggs if need more. Beds comfortable

Noise carries from other rooms and corridors. People were pretty quiet while we we there so was good.

Great location. The free breakfast is simple with just bread and coffee, but it is well worth the money you paid. I booked a dorm bed but I was the only one in the dorm room. A great experience beyond my expectation!

The reception does not speak good English but is enough.
