Hotel Gasthof Rödertor

Very comfortable room in a perfect location to explore the town. Parking nearby.

Didn't get a chance to stay here. We messaged the hotel a couple of hours before arrival to let them know we were on our way and the time we would arrive. We received no response. When we arrived (around 5:30) to check in, we were informed that there was no room for us because of a water line break and that since the entire town was booked up, they had found us a place in their sister property. The sister property was about 1/2 mile outside the city walls, in a not very pleasant location along a busy road. They tried to give us a room with two single beds that looked like it was out of a college dorm room. When we said no, then they gave us the "apartment" which was a weird apartment with single beds in the living room (along with a couple normal bedrooms) and stained carpets. It was in no way comparable to what we had book. Mostly, we are upset that the hotel did not reach out to us before arrival, when we had checked in with them and waited until we arrived. Then they tried to give us extremely sub-par accommodations, and we had to request something, which was still sub-par. Had they been bothered to notify us, we would have booked somewhere else (and there were other options despite what they said). I do understand things happen, but to not be notified and given a c**p room as the alternative is not okay.

War alles in Ordnung.

Das Zimmer war wunderbar groß, sauber und gemütlich. Das Frühstück war sehr gut, mit gutem Kaffee, Bircher Müsli und frisch gemachtem Rührei. Parkplatz direkt am Haus. Lage direkt an der Altstadt. Sehr gutes Restaurant angeschlossen. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich.
