Up North Stays

We loved our stay at Millers cottage. A lovely welcome pack on arrival and the cottage has been thoughtfully refurbished with everything you would need. It was perfect for, us as we wanted to stay in a two bed cottage with two king size beds that was located in quiet countryside and equidistant from Berwick -Upon-Tweed (where we caught a train to Edinburgh for a day trip!) and Bambrugh/Seahouses (for the puffins)

This is a beautifully renovated cottage, which is well equipped and very comfortable. Vicki, the host, was very friendly and welcoming and happy to help in any way she could. The location is perfect for exploring the area, including Lindisfarne, Bamburgh, Seahouse, Craster, etc. It’s a very quiet location and there is a lovely local walk to St Cuthbert’s Cave and then back over Greensheen Hill.

The cottage is on the ground floor, down some steps. On one side is a bank and on the other is a high hedge, so there isn’t much in the way of views and you do feel a bit enclosed.

Nice spacious rooms, well equipped, clean, nice welcome, had most of what you would need in the kitchen, nice quiet surroundings.

Beds were a bit bouncy for our tastes, but you can't have a bed that suits absolutely everyone! Needs a longer shower mat in the shower as it was slippery when entering until you reached the mat that is there. No handle on the inside of the Kitchen shutters to enable them to be re-opened easily, Sofa again was a bit hard for our taste - however, from these comments these are only little things that didn't suit us - overall the property is lovely and a credit to Vicki and her family!

Nothing really to add out of my preferences a local public house withing walking distance would have been great.

Beautiful views over the fields. Very peaceful setting. Convenient access to A1 and 15 min drive from the coast. So comfortable in the cottage with thoughtful details from the host.
