Bearlodge Mountain Resort

I didn't really like this property. First the name got us confused (there are many Bear Mountain Lodges) (they call themselves a resort - hardly that. Then the picture on their site seemed to imply that it was up in the mountains, (it was right in town) The cabin was very very tiny, literally 2 steps from the bed to the bathroom. The shower was also tiny. Finally there were beef calves and cows walking around - like loose next to our car. It would have been understandable if they had gotten out and the owner of the cows came to put them in. But we watched from our room and no one came, even when it got dark.Over all if it had been advertised properly we probably wouldn't have stayed.

The only positive aspect of our stay was the accessibility to the places we wanted to visit. The term "resort" should not be applied. It is a kitchen that sleeps four. The coffee maker had used grounds from the previous occupant. No sink in the bathroom. The "sink" in the "kitchen" was barely usable and difficult to reach. We will not be back.

This property did not meet my expectation at all. As soon as I opened the door, I was repelled by an odor from the room. I turned on the AC and kept the front door open, but it did not help. I could not stay there, so called management and said that we would find another property for the night.

I love this place. I stayed here last summer for a few nights with some family. This summer I stayed alone for a few nights as part of a larger trip. The cabin I stayed in was very clean and very comfortable. The overall resort is very quiet and well-maintained. This is one of my favorite places to stay for relaxation and I will certainly be back.

Awesome view and lodging

We stayed in 1/2 of a double unit. It was a little tight for 4 people, but very comfy and clean. We loved the town of Sundance and the surroundings. It was fun to watch the deer in the early AM and PM. Delightful stay.

This place was perfect for us on our family trip. Super clean, comfortable beds, good location. Communication and access to the cabin was easy. Read the fine print, though. If you don't take out the trash or wash dishes, you can be charged. But if something isn't working in the cabin (e.g., TV not working or no hot water, etc.), the owner has no obligations to fix them or offer any kind of full or partial refund. While this did not happen to us, it just doesn't seem right.

Quaint cabin, very clean but small. We enjoyed seeing all the stars at night. We were there just to sleep so the size of the cabin was ok.
