Cambria Hotel Shelby Township - Detroit Utica

Was in town for a wedding and stayed here one night. Very friendly staff, great bar/restaurant on main floor, rooms were updated, and beds were very comfortable. Would stay here again!

No drinks or water in the room

I booked this hotel over two weeks ago for a family wedding and received a confirmed reservation. Today, out of nowhere, I was informed it was canceled due to “overbooking.” This is not just poor management — it’s a complete disregard for guests’ time, travel plans, and trust. When I called, I got a verbal “sorry that happened” but no actual solution or effort to fix the problem. What makes this even more frustrating is that other family members booked at the same time, for the same event, and their reservations were left untouched. A confirmed booking is a commitment, and this hotel clearly does not honor theirs. If you value reliability, transparency, and basic professionalism, I strongly suggest you look elsewhere.

Very very clean, good price will definitely stay again. Restaurant is decent too!

Our room was quiet, comfortable, clean and very nicely decorated. The bed was also very comfortable.

The main lobby area, which included the bar and restaurant was totally open. We came down to eat and it was so loud we almost turned around. Luckily the receptionist gave us a table as far away from the bar area as possible, so the noise level was tolerable. The food was very good, but not worth the price. Lastly, it is truly disappointing that this place offers no breakfast. After getting spoiled at the Drury with breakfast and dinner included, it made saying here comparatively pricey.
