Hotel is small but amazingly well run, very clean and luxurious. The owner was on site and couldn’t be more helpful. I’d definitely stay there again. It is only 2 stars due to it’s size but beats a lot of 4 star hotels I’ve been to.

We stayed here for 3 nights and had a very enjoyable stay. Cécile is a wonderful host, answering questions before and during our stay, and messaging to ensure we arrived safely. The hotel is rated 2 stars, but outshines many 4 star hotels I stayed in. We booked a comfort double room which was very spacious, well laid out and spotlessly clean. We had great sleep thanks to a really comfortable bed with good quality linen as well as shutters which kept the room dark. There are a small number of rooms here which meant that there was no noise at night. The location is great, very close to the old port and many tourist spots, with many bars and restaurants within a very short walk. I hope to go back to La Rochelle and if I do I will return to Un Hotel En Ville.
