Upstairs area pleasant.

Kitchen needs repairs. Several floorboards need replacing, feels like one may fall through floor. Not for guests with large, heavy luggage, as the walk to hotel from train station is very diificult up hill.

Nothing good about the Apartment

Horrible, Stressful and Terrible, cannot describe my experience. We informed the host we were slightly late about 9.01pm due to heavy rains throughout the day and long journey from Gotemba to this VERY REMOTE mountainous apartment. Conditions were catastrophic. Long windy steep slopes to the apartment to a shabby, old, poorly maintained so-called "villa". What a misnomer!. Host abruptly shut us off, changing the Pin access so after the long and windy bus journey up then a worse long steep roundabout walk followed by an impossibly steep descent of about 70 degrees gradient down to his apartment, we were locked out by the Host. He refused to open the gate and abruptly canceled our room EVEN THOUGH WE HAVE FULLY PAID FOR TWO NIGHTS without offering any cancelation, help and then he didn't answer our pleas for help or picked up the phone to our calls. We told him we were a group of 11, mostly between ages 66 to 75 elderly ladies and this place was not even good, but finding an alternative accommodation in the evening in the remote mountainous area was way impossible. We had to call the Embassy at their Emergency number, the Japanese Civil Emergency number And the local Police for help spending hours to look for and explain our situation to all these parties before we were finally evacuated out of the remote area down the valley to the next town for a last minute expensive accomodation as this was such a last minute booking. No choice left. To add insult to injury, the Host promptly reoffered his apartment on the same dates of our booking, attempting not just to eat up our paid monies, but to earn extra from other would be tenants to his apartment. SUCH A MERCENARY AND SCAMMER! SHOCKINGLY UNREASONABLE, TRAUMATIC CANNOT BEGIN TO DESCRIBE OUR EXPERIENCE. I have been a regular Booking. Com customer for at least 10 years with good experiences until now. I have attained the Genius level TOTALLY Unforgettable EXPERIENCE FROM THE BOTTOM WITH THIS HOST.

The size of the house and the experience to live in a real japanese home

The house is old, it requires renovation and the kittchen too.

One of the most beautiful houses we stayed in on our trip to Japan! We loved this place, and it worked really well for our family. Clean, quiet, comfortable, spacious, functional, with beautiful traditional details around the house and the most incredible views out of the window. We loved it here, and our host was super helpful and gave us a lift to the station with our bags.

There was nothing we didn't like.

Nejhorší zkušenost v životě !!!Měli jsme pár minut spoždení , tudíž jsme byli na místě ve 22:07,protože nebylo možné nikde sehnat taxi a bohužel je velmi strmé a tam dojít není jednoduché a ubytovatel poté co nám to nešlo odemknout nám sdělil že změnil kód v21:00 hodin.Ještě byl hrubý do telefonu po té co jsme mu zavolali ,že to nejde otevřít několik minut po 9 hodině a on nám zrušil vstup do domu.Tež pronajímám a kdybych se mela takto chovat tak 70 % hostů by skončilo na ulici jako my …

The experience of staying in a small town in a traditional home. Yoshi provided good information via Whatsapp and was somewhat easy to reach. As a travel agent, I believe that most American travelers could be disappointed in this Villa. However, our group of four found it quite wonderful as an overall experience. The kitchen was sufficient for preparing meals and we really appreciated having a washing machine. Yoshi provided a dining recommendation at Cafe and Bar You...which was terrific. The food was so good we went there every night for dinner.

We did have access (i.e. entry code) to get in until we were standing at the door in the rain. It created an unnecessary panic! Understand how to travel by bus or the train once BEFORE arriving at the villa. UBER/GO/LYFT are unavailable when called from the house and would only come to the train station. Ask that Yoshi send you - IN ADVANCE - the document with details for getting to the house from the Ohiradei Train Station. For whatever reason, the owner has not made needed repairs to the floors in the house. Some spots feel dangerous to walk on. A dining room chair rail and some new (but cheap) kitchen cabinets could really enhance visitor's experience. Lastly, there is only one shower/tub on the first floor. Lastly, I think the place could be cleaned a bit better. The single night stand in the bedroom had 1/8" of dust on the shelf and the windows appear not to have been cleaned in over a year.
