ERTH INN by AGA - Mojave

For the area and price, I feel like it was well above expectations. Everything worked, in the room, there wasn't any significant damage, but a lot of "deferred maintenance". For instance, in the bathroom, screws and wall anchors in the drywall, not holding anything, not fully/properly installed, just there. The biggest issue was the smell. The room had very obviously been smoked in, and recently. And the smoke alarm battery cover was open, with the battery missing. Luckily, I'm pretty nose deaf and got used to the smell quickly, but everything I left and came back, it was there. I ended up having to buy some scented candles to help mask the scent.

I stayed here 3 separate weeks and each week I checked in Sunday night and left Friday morning. They gave me the same room each time and after this last stay, I will not be returning. When I checked in this last Sunday night, the sheets had not been changed since my last visit and I could tell bc they still had the remains of my spilled salad and avocado stair from the week prior. When I asked if they could change the sheets their cleaning employee had the key to the laundry room and had left for the day, so they had me sleep in the bed of the room next door. When I came back to my room on Monday night, the bed was made, but they still had not changed the sheets because it still had spilled salad and the avocado stain. Once again, I had to sleep in the bed next door. Finally on Wednesday, the sheets were changed but only after I had to strip the bed. On Wednesday afternoon, I went to use the microwave and there was a frozen microwave meal in there, rotting, from when I forgot my breakfast on the Friday previously, and had checked out so I couldn’t return to get it. This shows they don’t clean the microwave either. The room isn’t very clean, with the tile floors being sticky and leaving my feet black, but I can wear crocs. The rotten food was the last straw for me. The room does have a kitchen with a stove, but the vent doesn’t work and the room does not have a smoke detector. The mount is there, but the actual detector has been missing since my first visit.

The hotel is nextto a liquor store, it smelled like weed and there was cigarette holes burnt in the comfortor wich was cery thin. The furniture was vandalized and the air conditioning was very noisy. The area felt unsafe and the pool was drained.

Slightly nicer than the motel 6 up the street.
