Sonder 16th South

The place was very clean. There is a bright porch light, though, that shines through and can disturb sleep if someone is sleeping on the pull-out couch (which we had). There were some closeby neighbors who were loud at around 2am, which I know isn’t the fault of the property owners, but that was a frustration. It would have been nice if the AC went lower, especially for sleeping. But the area was nice and the location was well-maintained.

Nice quiet location.

On arrival it was obvious the floor in the property was damaged. There was visible water damage in many places and areas that had been patch repaired. As soon as the shower was turned on we knew why - water poured across the bathroom floor, under the door and out into the hallway. The flooding in the bathroom was longstanding and the floor in the hallway was rotten. You could feel it moving underfoot. Very dangerous and poor accommodation. We asked to be moved. Although we were moved by Sonder, it took a whole day of our 3 day trip to resolve and they weren't even slightly interested in helping. Definitely wouldn't recommend this property or Sonder to anyone.

16 Sondar was in a great location, its own little neighborhood with restaurants and bars within walking distance. A short uber ride to Broadway. The apartment was very cozy. However there were a lot of ants in the bathroom and kitchen.

Great stay!

Clean and comfortable but sparse in amenities. We paid extra to check in an hour early and it took 18 minutes with online chat to get in because the door code wouldn't work. I asked for a refund for that portion and still haven't heard back. We will see...

Very nice

We definitely will reserve again. Without doing my research I didn’t see any way for wheelchair access. The only other thing is is the sander website isn’t helpful when maintenance is needed. There is one thing that needs Arthur I don’t know how to let them know.

Pros: It looks great. It's in a great location. Street parking is pretty easy. And it's a decent value. Cons: It's awesome - unless you want to actually sleep. Bedroom 1 is fine - except for the loud birds outside every night. Nothing they can do about that - except the double pane windows they installed would work if the window actually locked and lined up correctly. Speaking of bedroom #1 - there's no overhead light (I think it was out). Also - no mirror. Bedding was decent, but a bit heavy so you where either sweating or freezing when you took it off you. Bedroom 2 is a joke. A rickety bunk bed that seemed unsafe for anyone over 50 lbs. It was missing numerous bolts and creaked so loudly every time someone rolled over it would wake them. It sounded like a cross between an overweight man farting or a small child being strangled. Trust me - it was that unsettling. The top bunk has no rails, and is held together by duct tape. We ended up taking the mattress off the top bunk and having someone sleep on it in the living room. Also, that room was so small, no way two people can use it together. On to the pullout couch - or rather the inside of it. The mattress was about two inches thick, warped, and the whole bed wasn't even remotely level. There is zero chance at sleeping comfortably on it - so we had one person sleep on the closed couch, and another stay elsewhere. And that person better be under 5'6. Entryway smelled of mold. My clothes smelled of mold when I came home.
