Residence Inn by Marriott Detroit Farmington Hills

The staff was so kind to my elderly father and his caregiver. It was a very difficult time to be displaced from their home, but the staff looked out for them and made sure that they had a safe and comfortable stay.

Our room vas very clean. Surprised at the amenities, was not expecting a kitchenette with dishes and silverware. @ minor complaints. The coffee packets with coffee for the coffeemaker did not have sweeteners or creamers in them, so get some from the complementary area downstairs if your basket doesn't have any. Also, ask for a room opposite the highway if you don't like noise. The windows aren't very soundproof. It didn't bother us, so YMMV.

It was so nice! I was sad to leave

Residence in was great. It was easy driving to and from Detroit downtown and having a TV with netflix and cable to watch shows and football games, a mini kitchen for comfort and a clean bed and bathroom was great as well as a dimple tart breakfast. However, I paid $100 for our quiet, full trained, 14 year old, docile husky. During our last breakfast, an older couple screamed at our dog "get out of here" and then just kept staring at us!! It made me very uncomfortable and we all got up and left because they kept looking at us. I think they were with their grand kids who, even as children, didn't stare and didn't seem to have a problem at all. We are leaving today so I didn't ask the front desk to do anything but I did tell the gentleman who was working and pointed them out and he asked for my room no. maybe to document it or something. But if we were to stay overnight and that happened, I would've asked the staff to talk to the older, extraordinarily rude couple and to respect our boundaries especially without any legitimate cause. Our husky was sitting and hardly in their line of vision.

The housekeeping was not good at all

nice large room with small kitchen. Full size refrigerator, electric stove and pot and pans for meal prepping. very convenient.

The grill and fire pit were both inoperable and those were important to us when choosing a week long stay for business. We were disappointed that this was not posted on the site. Breakfast was prepackaged and subpar. Room was nice and comfortable. Staff was very nice. Overall a good stay but disappointed in the amenities being down.
