This was an absolutely great surprise!!! I knew as we pulled in after dark that it was special! Lights in the trees and across the grounds made a magical setting for the yard filled with white Adirondack chairs, small cottages, and white fences. Room 2 was immaculate and very comfortable! What a treat to have coffee the next morning while using white cups and saucers!! The staff were friendly and gave advice on dinner…Piano Bar Steakhouse!!! ! We hope to have an excuse to return!!!

There was nothing that I didn't like.

Lovely hotel. Stayed in the Garden Room, a nicer suite. It was very plush and nice in the areas you could immediately see, but really dusty and dirty in the places you couldn’t see. The train runs every 2 hours or so about a block and 1/2 from the hotel and they lean on the horn whilst passing. If that kind of ground rumbling horn blasting noise would bother you…. Well, you don’t have many other choices in Rockdale.

Quaint little village and nicely decorated it is the oldest family owned motel in Texas and has that Texas county charm

Friendly Staff, lovely grounds with cats lounging around, & awesome coffee in the lobby :) small issues (like a cracked coffee pot) were attended to swiftly & I would be very happy to stay again on my next trip to Texas.
