Beautiful Guest House on New Built Home Near Downtown

Very cute apartment. Neighborhood was okay...close to Fort Sam. Comfy bed, nice linens, kitchen was adequately supplied, surprisingly quiet! Covered parking was great too.

No instructions for the Nest thermostat. Too much cat poop in the parking spaces. A little below my cleaning standards.

The house was clean and nice and met our needs. It was close to many restaurants and close to downtown. The host was helpful and provided a thorough notebook with all the details we needed for a nice stay.

The neighborhood around the house was a little rough. The couch could be a little bigger, nicer, and more comfortable for movie watching. There were a few issues with trying to park because cars (of neighbors) were blocking the alley way when we needed to leave or come back a few times, but our hostess helped us with that.

The narrow gravel pathway that leads to the back staircase did not have enough light for safety. No window screens for fresh air. Not to mention all the cats that uses the walkway and almost the entire backyard as their litter box. The sounds of a dozen roosters every morning from the house next door and the stray dogs that run the neighborhood. I was attacked twice while out walking. Luckily I wasn't bitten and the dogs continued to move along.

The apartment itself is nice but if you get there after dark it is very dark &you have to walk up a staircase that is poorly lit. To reach the location to park you have to drive thru a dark alley where there are run down homes that looked like junk yards and people gathering about-almost looked like homeless camps.

I particularly liked the fact that there was covered and secured parking at the back of the property and the boarding was perfect for 2 people overnight. Short distance from the riverwalk and traffic in the neighborhood was light
