Big Tree Boutique Hotel

The hotel is located on the main road, but the rooms are set back and therefore very quiet. The property itself is lush, green, and beautifully maintained — it really feels like a small paradise.

Unfortunately, the value for money did not work for me at all. The price was far too high for what was offered. In addition, the staff came across as quite unfriendly and unmotivated, especially in the restaurant, which noticeably affected the overall experience.

Die Zimmer sind gut ausgestattet und sauber.

Leider war unser Aufenthalt enttäuschend. Die Rezeption schließt bereits um 17:30 Uhr, sodass wir abends hilflos waren, als immer wieder Tausendfüßler über den Balkon ins Zimmer krochen. Handtücher und Seife rochen unangenehm, und beim gemieteten Roller platzte nach nur einem halben Tag abrupt der Reifen – ich entkam nur knapp einem Unfall. Insgesamt fühlten wir uns nicht gut betreut und empfehlen dem Hotel dringend, Servicezeiten, Hygiene und Ausrüstung zu überarbeiten.

Nous avons apprécié l’emplacement du logement ainsi que l’accueil qui nous a été réservé. Le restaurant japonais à proximité est excellent, et les petits déjeuners du café de l’hôtel sont remarquables.

Nous attendions à une chambre plus confortable et mieux équipée. L’accès à la chambre à l’étage est particulièrement difficile, les lits y sont peu confortables (matelas très fins) et la salle de bain manque d’équipements, avec certains éléments vieillissants (lunette de toilettes cassée, notamment). Dans l’ensemble, le rapport qualité-prix ne nous a pas semblé du tout justifié.

Absolutely loved my stay here! If you’re looking for more of a quiet escape in Koh Tao, this would be the perfect space. The room was comfortable, spacious and I loved the balcony area. The staff were super friendly and as a solo female traveller I felt quite safe here. If you have the chance to, definitely go downstairs and try out their breakfast options at their cafe, it’s on the pricier side but so so worth it.

The hotel is harmoniously integrated with a café, a ramen restaurant, a nail salon, and numerous plants. It's lovely to see a family-run hotel striving for more sustainable hospitality practices.
