"While we really enjoyed our first visit here, our second was extremely disappointing."

4.0

This was our second year staying in this house. The location can’t be beat! It’s pretty clean, the kitchen has everything you need to make meals. I do want to point out I was very impressed with the rental management at first because the lady that answers the phone was so friendly and helpful and they let us check in several hours early. I thought that was very accommodating.

The first year we stayed it was in much better shape than this year. The moment we walked in it smelled very musky. Like a damp old house smell. That didn’t go away the whole week. The downstairs bathroom had a large cockroach in it the first night we were there. Didn’t see anymore the rest of the time. The master bathroom didn’t have a bath stopper. It was missing. The master bed room bed was so worn in it sinks in the middle and it makes so much noise the second you get in it. The kitchen table is missing a chair. The downstairs porch definitely needs some cosmetic work. The main reason I’m unhappy with this visit and could have over looked everything else is one of the chairs on the back porch snapped while my husband was sitting in it. He’s not a large man. He could have been hurt but thank goodness he wasn’t. I called to let the office know what happened. They said they would let the maintenance guy know. I got a call a few days after we were home from the Young Coast housekeeping manager named Kristy. She accused us of breaking the chair and told me I needed to pay approx $260 for the chair. I explained to her there was no way we broke it and it must have been cracked before he sat down. She kept on telling me no, the maintenance man said it was snapped in half and she needs to collect the money. I was in shock and couldn’t believe how she was speaking to me and blaming us. So for us that was it and we won’t be back. We paid a lot of money for just an ok house then were treated badly when we brought to their attention that something was broken. She didn’t even bother asking if my husband was ok.
