It was very nice staff was incredible they even changed our room for extra comfort

The staff were wonderful; the location is good ;

The room was akin to a cupboard; we couldn't walk past each other; the basin was in the bedroom; there were no bedside lights or tables; the fridge was miniscule and filled with all the hotel drinks to purchase; the lighting was poor; ( one tiny window)there was a strange wooden ridge between the 2 single beds, which made it difficult to access the far bed; there was no tea/ coffee/ milk and when I asked about this was told to get it from the breakfast room, but there were only 4 English tea bags, 4 fruit..very, limited and the milk dispenser on the coffee machine was broken ; 4 hangers on a rack to put clothes, no sideboard or drawers; one tiny shampoo and body wash between two people; The swimming pool was nice but more like a plunge pool.Only 4 sun loungers..in fact, everything was tiny; it seems it's operating on. a very restricted budget. Certainly not value for money. The Velvet Orchid opposite is much better. Despite the really lovely staff, who all speak and understand English well, it's probably the worst accommodation ( value for money etc) that I've stayed in to date( been to the wonderful Somerset Ekamai, Bankok, Amy's beach apartments , Rayong, The Opium, Chiang Mai) 1

I got an automaten request for review before even having arrived? I sat at breakfast for half an hour before being noticed, and then being told that things were finished.. Very Chinese friendly but not so friendly when you are not Chinese, in my humble opinion.. They could do a lot better

Our stay at the Nine Hotel Chiang Mai clearly exceeded expectations. It was, very likely, the best service we experienced throughout our trip across Thailand, from north to south. This is a hotel where true hospitality standards are still taken seriously, something that is becoming increasingly rare, and it shows in the small (yet significant) details. Our check-in was handled by Mana, who was extremely professional and spoke excellent English. Beyond completing the process efficiently, she took the time to walk us through a map of the city, highlight the main attractions in Chiang Mai, and answer all our questions. As a final touch, she personally accompanied us to our room on the second floor, introducing the hotel’s facilities along the way, a level of care and attention that truly stands out. The hotel also provides clear and accessible information about the city’s key points of interest, along with helpful suggestions that genuinely allow guests to make the most of their stay. The entire team was consistently attentive and friendly, and on several occasions we were addressed by our names, which reflects a personalized approach and a genuine interest in guest experience. Another detail we appreciated was the availability of complimentary bicycles, perfect for exploring the city. Additionally, the hotel makes an effort to anticipate cultural differences by providing contextual information to help guests better understand their surroundings, something that could easily be overlooked, but is handled here with care and thoughtfulness. The breakfast is continental style and of good quality. Overall, a very positive experience, marked above all by an exceptional level of service. A hotel that truly understands what hospitality means.
