Les Ateliers d'Art Modiste et formier

Gilbert immediately made us feel comfortable showing us the Chambre and parking as well as their art studios. Both he and his wife Blanche are very talented artists. The accommodation at Les Ateliers d'Art was fabulous and creative in its design and literally on the doorstep of the town. A Fridge & kettle are provided, no cooking. Parking is provided in the price. Breakfast is extra although we didn't book. Nothing was too much trouble from either Gilbert or Blanche, excellent hosts & we thoroughly enjoyed our visit in Roanne.

The parking is in a private garage although it's a 5 minute walk with baggage. A paid parking area is available closer if you need to unload / reload your baggage prior to using the garage.

Coincé par la grève des transports, je suis arrivé à près de 1h du matin, et ai été accueilli avec chaleur, alors que je devais repartir vers 7h. Qui plus est, notre hôte est un homme passionnant (comme peut le confirmer une recherche sur @ !). Tout est propre et calme. J'espère avoir l'occasion de revenir.

lack of fresh air

Loved the location. In the centre of town but very quiet. Easy walk from the station. Accommodation a good size and quaint. Just the French experience we were looking for. Great continental breakfast! Owner was very helpful and spoke English.

Would have liked a little more information and maps (larger) provided about the facilities in the area such as the wonderful fish, cheese etc market we discovered, the local supermarket, the post office, the laundromat, etc.
