GBVery helpful host who drove us to the supermarket to buy food as we arrived after the restaurants were closed. Then drove us into oshino hakkai village in the morning! Lovely onsen bath too!
USLoved the remote location. The lush green space around the property and being away from main roads made this a quiet stay. Also loved the extremely deep soaking tub. I’m 5’10 (178cm) and sat with my legs fully extended, and the water level above my shoulders. Fantastic for soaking after all the walking/hiking. The izekaya a short walk from the property was some of the best yakitori we had in Japan.
The remote location was a negative for us as well since we were traveling by public transportation. It’s a 10 minute walk uphill, mostly paved (some gravel road) to the guesthouse from the bus stop. Also, the owner was kind, but not easily reachable. You’ll need a way to call a Japanese phone number, which we didn’t have.

CZEverything was perfect! The room was quite large, very cute and clean, bed comfortable. Bathroom was roomy and clean. Also if you did not enjoy the bath tub or the bathroom was occupied, the owner kindly showed you the other one on lower floor, with a shower. The owner is a very nice, kind man, amazing cook (the breakfasts were very enjoyable) and overall such a kind soul. We loved our stay, 11/10, would definitely stay again!

AUhot water in the shower, fridge and microwave available, free coffee and tea and you can use the dining table and cutlery to have food. 15 min walking to the main area. Quiet area Impressive view to mt Fuji from the Balcony
it was on a hill (it was a bit tiring when carrying my backpack 10kg uphill) only cold water in the sink....to wash your face and hands and brush your teeth. So cold during the night :S
JPThe guesthouse owner/staff is very approachable and exceptional. He can communicate and is very good in english. Very friendly and one of a kind host. Very recommended for tourists and non-japanese like us. The host/owner also reccomend you good place to visit and food to try in what area you plan to visits (don't be afraid to ask). The guesthouse is neat and clean. With a great view of Mt. Fuji in place. The place is also walking distance in many great places like oshino hakkai village, pond and sushi/sashimi shop. It is also accessible for public transportation which is good for DIY travelers like us.
